I'm from where Petey come from
Chinese and Indians are heavily represented in the corporate world. I read an article about it. Apparent Indians are more assertive than Chinese culturally, which lends itself nicely to management. Additionally the top 10% of employees in India is a much bigger number than the top 10% of Americans, based on the sheer fact that they have many more people. Their top 10% is like 140 million people, while it’s only like 40 million in the US. Same goes with China. At every corporate job I’ve had in the last decade there are a ton of Chinese and Indians. I think this is related to the global nature of large corporations. They don’t care what country you are from, they just want the best employees. Since China and India are so large, they have a larger number of candidates to pull from

True to a degree. Indians and Chinese are notoriously know for nepotism. More so than Whites, which is crazy.

With three weeks to go before Christmas you’re fired
People always point this out with articles like this but isn't this a normal practice? Hell when my company sents the Christmas party invitation we always open up a pool about how many days after the party they gonna let people go.

We get multiple reports of mass layoffs each year during this time so I always assumed that this is common practice among companies.

I'd completely eliminate "AT WILL" termination in America. All jobs would have to have a violation system (if not already in place, most places already have one but are still "at will") and would need to give a 2 week termination period. If you refuse it, your unemployment kicks in immediately and you stop working immediately. If you want to work the last 2 weeks, you will be monitored by staff to make sure there is no sabotaging going on. If there is purposeful sabotaging, this can cause criminal charges :yeshrug:.

Would work great for both parties :ehh:
I do cross work in the UK and they call that a garden period, and it’s 3 months of FULL PAY. After that they qualify FOR 3 YEARS of unemployment!

your company is a bunch of dikks then. To me lay-off right before Christmas is wrong.

On top of that dude showed 0 empathy. My old company used to love mass layoffs. It was cold blooded too. Bring them into a room and “as of today you are no longer employed”. How do you fix your face to say this shyt? Complete narcissistic behaviour. Give these people some damn training.

Why the fukk people keep bringing up Xmas like it means something. It's the end if the quarter. If people gotta go, they gotta go. Oh let's just wait to fire them after Xmas, what difference does it make, they were in the chopping block regardless.

Naw that aint it.

It's because education is pushed in both cultures, which leads to their children getting into the best schools. Those top schools then lead you into the best jobs or a path to building a start-up.

The company is going public next year I've read. He wanted the people off the books before the new business cycle began.

I know a few people who still work there. And that's exactly it. They even fired 100 employees earlier this year in June. Seems like they hire people just to fire them for trumped up reasons.

He also threatened the remaining employees if they didn't work twice as hard they would be fired next.

It will be next to impossible for them to recruit talent going forward. Not to mention all the current employees running for the exits.

All this bad publicity from this video going viral can't be good for Business. Which means any money you saved from layoffs will be short lived once customers start boycotting them.
