so u interpret that line as him having no love for the art? :what:

u do know its possible to have the audience' tastes in mind while preserving ur integrity and love for art right??

U do know all artists in all genres do this?

Youre making excuses breh, of course he cares about the artform but lets not act like the artform is his #1 priority. Its not, business is.

Matter fact nowadays it seems like he uses music just as a marketing tool to further his brand

With all that said if both dropped an album today, id listen to Jay's album first. I relate to Jay more, but you have to call a spade a spade

Let it go y'all Jay lost, Jay was all up on the Angie Martinez show asking ''Did I deserve that'', funny how a 'corny song' changed his perspective on future beefs :camby:

Then you have dudes trying to move the goal posts, 'bu bu bu Takeover was a better song sonically' the aim of the game was to win the war of words, Nas did that with his song. its like saying boxer A ko'd boxer B, but boxer B had the better jab, so although he lost, he never really lost................

i never said business wasnt #1

Bbut u said he aint care for the art

On the prelude he admitted that he retired because of other endeavors that were more benficial for him financially when compared to the music but then he came back cuz he's done rap for so long he just cant really leave it

As long we both know Jay cares bout the music and the art we good tho :myman:

Word. There may have been some boxers technically better than Tyson but it didn't matter once he got in the ring and knocked them out

Not this shyt again. Takeover isn't the fact, it's Jay-Z's opinion. I hate how people said, Takeover is the whole fact while Ether not the fact?...basically Ether response to Takeover.

Jay-Z - "your bodyguard's "Oochie Wally" verse better than yours" & " you started but now you're just garbage, Fell from top ten to not mentioned at all"
Nas' response to that "Eminem murdered on your own sh!t" & "Compared to Beans you whack" :wow: & "Who’s the best MCs, Biggie, Jay-Z, or Nas, ain't no best" & "How could Nas be garbage" & "Come out of my thorne, I got this locked since 9-1, I'm the truest, Name a rapper that I ain't influenced, Gave y'all chapters but how I keep my eyes on the Judas with Hawaiian Sophie ame, keep my name in his music"

Jay-Z - "I showed you your first tec on tour with Large Professor (Me, that's who!)"

Nas' response to that - "Semi-autos at your cartilage" & " In 88 you was getting chased through your building, calling my crib and I ain't even give you my numbers" So Mobb Deep better thanks Nas for that.

Jay-Z - "Youse the faq model for Karl Kani/Esco ads"

Nas' response to that "Rocafeela died of AIDS, that was the end of his chapter, And that's the guy y'all chose to name your company after?"

Jay-Z - "I sampled your voice, you was usin it wrong, You made it a hot line, I made it a hot song"
Nas' response to that "How much of Biggie's rhymes is gonna come out of your fat lips" :ooh: cause the whole Jay-Z albums basically ripping lines from Biggie"

Ether just won. I hate people used the excuse that said, Jay-Z only have one verse on Nas but f*ck that shyt Jay-Z plays checker while Nas plays chess since when Jay-Z said, "Because you know who (who) did you know what (what)
with you know who (yeah) but just keep that between me and you for now" that just made Nas more pissed off and you gonna think he ain't gonna back down from the embarrassment? :usure: so that's why Nas went :pacspit: all in on Ether. Jay-Z thinks Nas is a b!tch and would back down from that sh!t.....mfer Jay-Z was really underestimated Nas and didn't see it coming he was so arrogant like a motherf*ck and got bite his ass and hit him ether and Jay-Z went :to: after Ehter.

Mind you......"You pop sh!t, apologoze, n!gga just ask Kiss" and yet his mom made his son to apologize Nas on the radio....just :wow: Jay-Z doesn't know what Nas went through when his mom was gone all this sh!t just hit Nas :fire: and :demonic: on Jay-Z.

There's reason why the crowd at the concerts still begging Nas to play Ether and the crowd didn't beg Jay-Z to play Takeover at the concerts.

So that being said, Ether is a better song and better diss than Takeover.

ETHER wins hands down because it was SCIENCE put to beats...

hence the term ETHER....you would think Charlemagne the God would know that being that he is familiar with the N.O.I

Whom back during it's (NOI) early inception the mid 30's taught a concept entitled "TRIPLE STAGE DARKNESS" which was no longer taught to students of the N.O.I post 1940's following the "revision" of the 120 lessons..but yet was kept in tact by gods of the N.G.E...

THE Document TRIPLE STAGE DARKNESS spoke on the power and relevance of ETHER which deals with Reflections and Memory

all Nas was doing with his jabs is making JAY-Z reflect on his INSECURITIES as a man....i.e (self conscious about his looks, his street cred, and his envy of others such as NAS)

The concept is an old one at best

P.B Randolph and many rosicrucians and freemasons such as Pike of the 19th century spoke on the power of ETHER...how it is a CHAMBER OF REFLECTION....

Which brings LIGHT to ones flaws kinda like the "holy spirit" of the Christian church where one shed TEARS looking at ONE'S own self...

in fact it is elpful it made JAY better :obama:

and Jay"hova" knows this
file.php

"The Reflecting Ether deserves its name for more than one reason, for the pictures in it are but REFLECTIONS of the memory of nature. The real memory of nature is found in a much higher realm

It may seem to him that the images are irresistibly self- impelled, but this is not so; they do respond to his will, as he soon discovers when he makes the effort to control them."

nas SPOKE on this in an interview about his thoughts on SUPER UGLY:

He didn't feel like he could come at me with science in his rhymes, he felt like he had to come with disrespect. And I felt like it was disrespect. We all knew it, the whole crew knew it, we was bugging, we was laughing. I called my baby moms, she was laughing. She didn't hear it, but she heard about it. It was like, wow, this dude really overdid it. . . . Let's be real, man, I did Ether to him. I got into his soul, and it's obvious that I broke his spirit.

In the same episode he said he agreed with Raven Symone when she said she isn't gonna allow herself to be labled as Black..Dude is about to blow up big time...
:aicmon: I'm 'bout to cut this off 30 mins.

You hipped me to it, earlier, and I was interested. smh, Dude is gone. I won't call him a sellout, yet. But, dude's outlook on race relations is dense.

And the worst thing is a this Schlutz dude is up there like Yea, fukk Africa...why do we feel sorry for Native Americans? How do we know there weren't ppl here before them? There could have been black ppl, here.

Charlamagne compares alcoholism to drinking milk. Dude takes godbody too seriously. Like nuthin' means nuthin', just live your life.

Yea, Imma leave their cast alone.

true indeed :manny:

got this from another board:

Jay-Z’s label is named after a Brooklyn hustler named Rocafella who lived in Farragaut Avenue and allegedly died of AIDS when it was first becoming an epidemic in the black community.

From the Jaz-O (Jay Z's mentor) song Love is gone:
“Rocafella had the crown on the block, him and Sync gettin' bent/I was 10 lookin' at them intrigued”

You know what the fact is that Fat Joe made Nas to remove the original verse about Big Pun pulled his gun on Jay-Z's chest.....Nas was rapping about it in this song with his original verse but Fat Joe told him not to....it is crazy how much ether you can get?. Big Pun never liked Jay-Z.

Its been 13 years man. Let it go. I was a HUGE Jay-Z fan and my soul got baptized listening to Ether :mjcry: Nas came through like a Zulu warrior and unleashed 100 African blow darts on Jigga :mjcry:
