no official word yet

he has a $10 million cap number, Packers would gain that by releasing him

:salute: to Woodson, it was a great run

Woodson release part of philosophy in GB: draft and develop, create pipeline of talent, don't be afraid to play young players.

Remember how hard it was to sign Charles, even with only other suitor TB for much less $. I sounded like GB Chamber of Commerce!

Woodson was due $9 million in GB this year, but no remaining guarantee.

Remember first minicamp practice when Woodson arrived: different level of player. Elite athlete, WRs locked down as never before.

Woodson had some initial clashes with structure in GB but worked through them and became trusted leader. Presence will be missed.

Reports of Charles Woodson's impending release from the Packers. Special player, remember recruiting/signing him as a free agent.

Casey Hayward's play in the slot and Sam Shield's improvement made Charles expendable :manny:

Plus he was playing at SS this past year and got hurt. He did play well against Minnesota but :to: Charles can't cover WRs anymore

His 2009 season when he won Defensive Player Of The Year was amazing. He seemed to be all over the field that year and felt like whenever GB needed a big play on defense he made it

He's not what he once was, but he's STILL lightyears better than Nnamdi.

So yeah, we'll take him.

Wasn't he playing safety this year? How'd he look as a free safety? Niners might need to take a look at him.

so

this is why our defense sucks now

release veteran leadership and leave nothing behind to fill the gap

charles woodson ain't the reason our D was ass cheeks, its TT drafting undersized EVERYBODY and forcing them into positions they're not ready for

you release CW because casey hayward had one good season??? did we forget where SS was at last year??? this is cullen jenkins all the fukk over again. Who is playing SS then??? There is zero/zilch of foundation on this defense for you to be releasing veteran players without forcing a restructure.

oh and aj IS STILL ON THIS GOD DAMN TEAM :bustback:
