-"This notion that everyone wants to be a great player, that's a lie"
- "Guys in their mind are like... i like making alot of money, I like working 7-8 months out of the year, I like staying at the Marriott or 4 Seasons hotels, etc "
- "They just wanna do their job and cause no waves"
- "Ben Simmons has to ask himself if he wants to be great"

He has a point :ehh:. Regardless of whatever sport it is, there's plenty of players you know are only there for a paycheck. I mean can you blame them. You playing for a ball for millions of dollars and can feed your family :yeshrug:

It’s not even athletes. It’s people in general. Most people only wanna go along to get along and don’t really wanna push their limits.

The main difference is that, usually, athletes had to push themselves to their limits at some point in the first place to ever get in the league in the first place. Their jobs automatically carry a high level of competitiveness.

Nothing off base about what he’s saying…

…Only 450 out of 8 billion people on planet Earth will even occupy an NBA roster spot at any given time to begin with. Of that 450, only 150 will start in any games. The percentages get even smaller when you break down how many of these guys will be All-Stars, Hall of Famers, or champions over the course of their careers…even if they ALL wanted these things and worked for them.

This is before we get down to how many of these guys are wired and talented beyond measure for those pursuits. It’s a reason you can count the Brons, KDs, Giannises, Stephs, & Kawhis on one or 2 hands…meanwhile the majority is made up of WAY more regular guys who are just happy to have even made it to league.
