If you got a decent paying job in Charlotte you better keep it. Everybody I know who left is making 30 to 40% more money someplace else. The Economy there just isn't diversified enough for earnings growth.
Charlotte Income Mixing and Inequality
"Income mixing and inequality is especially important in Charlotte, as a 2013 study ranked the city
dead last in income mobility. In a
more recent study,
Charlotte ranked99th out of 100 (only Baltimore fared worse). The study’s authors found that segregation by both race and income, as well as school quality, were important factors in determining residents’ economic mobility".
@JamilALAmin has been saying Charlotte isn't a hustlers city like more of the established metro's with a sizeable black population.
Essentially you gotta be plugged in to the establishment and be interested in working in certain sectors in Charlotte. If you're black, and have a family/married do Charlotte, Raleigh.
If single (and already eating good), do atl. Hands down.
If single, and had a real hustler's mindset with a track record of performance as a hustler, do Atl.
If single, and trying to come up as an establishment guy, do Raleigh/Durham. Durham's black base is still strong, and Raleigh's old, black guard is waning a bit, but being replaced slowly. Both still have generational blacks born and raised there.
I have no idea what Charlotte's black base does... alotta outsiders in that base.
NC as a whole is coming up population wise... not only has Charlotte and Raleigh and Durham seen huge gains... the triad is still seeing some gains too... if you want work, and want the best opportunity for work in diversified sectors, it's still NC over Georgia.
As someone else said, I don't even know the intent behind this thread.
