Brooklyn keeps on taking it.
Breh this is all just opinion. I haven’t seen any facts on why you would choose Charlotte over Atlanta (affordability, unemployment rate, housing market, job market, etc). Even non tangible things like culture, quality of life I’m not sure what y’all are basing this off of. I’m an Atlanta native but I went to school in Greensboro so I’m very familiar with Charlotte. I like Charlotte too but it’s not on Atlanta’s level IMO. It’s a smaller city and although a lot of black people live there I have never got a sense of the black culture of the city like I do here in Atlanta. Maybe it’s just there and I’ve missed it but I always feel like something’s missing when I’m in Charlotte

I like both Atlanta and Charlotte. While Atlanta is more fun (yes Charlotte is on the boring side), Atlanta is def more dangerous and ratchet and filled with more negative minded people.

If I ever decided to move to these places I would live in Charlotte and party in ATL once a month since it’s 4 hours away.

Atlanta has a lot of black success but I feel like people only focus on that part of ATL and act like the negative people don’t exist.

@AVXL there isn’t really strong black culture in Charlotte. They’re working on it tho . Will never come close to Atlanta’s level because the social infrastructure is too white washed . From private citizenry , to government to business .
Charlotte has to do a better job of promoting the black culture imo. It’s there but not promoted enough. They’re getting there though.

CLT got more land area and a population almost twice ATL’s size tho, so I wouldn’t call it a smaller city. Then again from your perspective, I can see why you’d think otherwise since ATL is denser, carries itself like a big city, and is more urban overall than CLT both aesthetically, infrastructurally, and mentally. I think the only urban pockets Charlotte got are Uptown and a few adjacent neighborhoods like South End, Plaza Midwood, and Dilworth....The rest of the city is very suburban, which has its pros and cons. Atlanta got a lot more urban pockets to work with even though it also got its share of suburban looking neighborhoods too but more so in the old streetcar suburban aesthetic. ATL also got a more diverse public transit system via subway, bus, and light rail/tram.

Of course the ATL

All major cities are dealing with an influx of crime, Atlanta is no different. I’m sure Charlotte has seen a similar surge in violent crime over the last 12 months

I would say that as a native Atlantan and still living in the metro Atlanta area that there has been a lot of focus lately on affordability of living in the city, gentrification, jobs and crime. Those are daily discussions. But I think big picture people do focus on Atlanta because of the natural resources (The AUC, black people in government, generational black leadership, favorable demographics, culture, etc) this city has for black people.

I don’t know what Charlotte has that resonates like that

Does Charlotte have desirable black suburbs like Atlanta, or are all the black folk inside Charlotte proper?
This is actually a good question and should be considered when moving to any city.

When I had moved to Columbus, Ohio back in the early/mid 2000s, I was tryna find a burb to get an apartment in. Somebody I worked with suggested Hilliard. I went and spent a few hrs there and saw TWO Black ppl TOTAL.

I cant live like that.
