NYC is expensive but, its alot of opportunity up there. People try to make it sound like NYC is the hardest city on Earth to make it in but, compare it to some backwater ass town down south or in the midwest. There's nothing there for you. In NYC, if you have an ounce of hustle in your body, you should be able to meet people, make contacts, find opportunities and get whatever it is you want to do going. The tradeoff (being more expensive) is worth it to me. I'm in Washington, D.C. right now, which is sorta similar in that regard. A few weeks ago, i was thinking about going to North Carolina because the cost of living is so cheap down there (you can get a fukkin 4 bedroom house down Raleigh or Charlotte for like $800/month), then i woke up and asked myself why would i want to go to a slow ass place like that in the prime of my life :what: If all goes well, I'll be in NYC in 6 months.

OP....I'd look into The Bronx. You can get a 1 bedroom for $1000-$1200. A 2 bedroom for $1300-$1500.

If you cool with roommates, you can always go that route too. Save some money. Plus, its an easy way to meet people in a new city.

I hear Hoboken is expensive AF too tho

If you live near the train station it is. Since it's only a mile long town you could easily get there from any part. Just stay away from those the projects area.

My industry is based in the city so I've been doing research on towns close to the city but still on the Hudson. Apparently any Hudson County town on the waterfront would do if you can forgo nightlife for a period.

Thinking about moving into the city. Just want to change my surroundings. I was thinking about houston, but i always wanted to stay in NYC.

But its so fukking expensive. I figure the money i'll save on a car i can put it into clothes though.

So how much is the cheapest apartment i could find in NYC? Any buildings/neighborhoods you can recommend? I'm a two time felon also, so i need a place that isn't too serious bout background checks and all that bullshyt.

You think it would be worth it to move up? Or should i just head down south? I like the idea of hot weather year round, but i've heard the south is like spread all the way out so its harder to get around and meet nikkas. Plus i'm not tryna get lynched.
:duck:
What southern cities would you recommend? I'm bout to turn 20 and i can pay up to 1500 a month for rent. Looking for somewhere with a nice night life and maybe close to some community colleges.
:duck:
My papers straight. I'm just trying to find cheapest place possible cuz i don't wanna put all my money into rent.

Kinda leading toward the south just cuz i could go to mexico for the weekends.[/QUOTE]

Bruh you tripping on this one

Its plenty $ to be made in Dallas, Houston, Atlanta and aint nothing "backwater" about it

Damn near very person I've met from northeast has no real plans of going permanently back no matter how much they love back home

Im sure things are faster up there than all of the south but where have you been other than Carolina down here breh?

Funny thing about the internet? People can't tell you're a felon. My online business is taking off. Making a little bit of legal money now breh

And my connect delivers. Whether i'm in nyc, down south, or at home i'm still gon be whippin (my car).

I wanna move away so i can focus on my cash and really blow up. I got too much family and too many nikkas where i'm at. I need to focus on strictly school and cash.
getting that residential income now huh breh :troll:

stay in the south, my auntie was paying like 1200-1300 a month to stay in some shytty projects in Brooklyn, she lives in Virginia now and her rent is half of what that was and she is living in a house.

You could always stay in Hoboken or Jersey City for a short period if you have a job lined up in NYC. It'll give you time to stack your money up and research NYC neighborhoods until your lease is up.

Hoboken is almost as expensive as Brooklyn. Especially near the PATH.

And Jersey City. :scusthov:

Move to Chicago. It's nowhere as expensive.
