I really don't know if that's fair to say to be honest, he didn't start playing like this until they moved him to SG, which is what he would have been with your team from day 1.
His strengths right now are exactly what the Cavs want from a 2 guard, he's hitting 3s, defending and his usage rate is lower than Waiters was when you had him.
The move to the 2 is the reason for the jump, it took injuries and trades to get him there, but on your team the path would have been Waiters starting at the 2 and sucking, then Blatt going with Wiggins at the 2. I mean, his talent was apparent from jump, his issue is he's not strong enough to body up on SFs and that wouldn't be a problem with your team, because he'd be playing the position he's now excelling at, SG.
They wanted Wiggins to be a 2 guard. I don't know if he would of started right away. They have/had championship aspirations.
It's hard to go back in retrospect to see how that would have changed the roster moves this summer but I think ideally they wanted someone who can hit the 3 ball and defend with size to start alongside Kyrie and LeBron.
I think his development would of been severely slowed.
The roster ideally of what they wanted with Kyrie, LBJ, and Love is almost a mirror of current Portland.
