All y'all saying he needs to hire a great OC ain't grasping whoever they hire can be greatest offensive mind in the world, but end of the day, he'll get hired to be a HC somewhere else with the quickness, leaving them to hire someone else to replace him.

Not understanding this hire when you have a developing 22 year old QB.

Yeah I dunno. They had the D kind of settled with Desai on DC. He's only gonna get better.

But this guy better have some steep connections for the offense otherwise it makes no sense.

I know Matt was :whew: when he got the call cause I couldn't imagine the stress of being the DC of a team having to cover for Carson Wentz :whew:

khalil mack and quinn was all pros in a 4-3 defense and roquan can play the mike LB in a 4-3 not to worried about the defense it's who he hire at OC and QB coach

I know....we'll need more lbs tho. Quinn and Mack will probably be defensive ends now

I don’t know this nikka, and i know he lost to the jags in a must win, this may be great or bad, the odds say we will be here in 3 more years. I’m trying to figure out how was he a better hire than Caldwell

Why are yall under the impression that only an offensive minded head coach can develop a QB? :dwillhuh:

old mantras die hard, and we tend to lean on a couple examples, rather than examine everything on a case by case basis , but given our young raw qb you would want someone with the experience to at least point him in the direction of decent play, like Caldwell. Not saying dude can’t help, or get a good oc or qb coach, time will tell, but a guy that wasn’t burning up the league with his prowess got the job, so I’m gon sit back and see, and he better kick ass and take names, because y’all chose him over a proven developer of qb talent and winning record

In this version of NFL coaching circles a DC almost never interacts with the offensive side of the ball so QB development for him is similar to asking an architect who specialized in residential construction to design a commercial skyrise. They're related, but the specifics can still be fukked up since they don't have experience. Beli developed Tom by explaining how defenses work etc etc, but I don't think that type of coaching happens anymore.
