Not in the case of Lavine as they were always going to be hard pressed in getting a meaningful return for him. Teams just didn’t rock with him like that with his injuries and contract.
It was the case with LaVine. I honestly know entirely way too much about the Chicago Bulls.

In 2022, AD for a LaVine package was a thing with the Lakers wanting to get rid of Davis at that time.

Fukk the bulls

Last time Lonzo played 50 games was 2021. Only team he played 60 his career was 2020. Missed 2 whole seasons wit major injury and only played 35 this season. Never experienced the grind of the playoffs either which tougher to get through physically. There almost a 0 chance Lonzo is healthy by playoffs AND makes it healthy a full playoff run.

Even if Lonzo is ass or can't walk his contract is better he has an upside if he can play and Okoro is omega super ass and even worse than omega super ass Pat Will never get better.

under no circumstance is this a win for the bulls. ya'll don't watch this team. its ran by absolute clowns :mjlol:

Do people not realize it's a team option for Lonzo. It's low risk high reward.

If he plays well he will get a 3 year 40 million dollar deal with another team option at the end...if he doesn't they cut him loose.

I'm pretty sure it was reported that the Bulls were offered a first round pick for Lonzo last year before the deadline. Instead of taking that offer, they sign Zo to a great deal, then trade him for another bust in the Patrick Williams draft that can't shoot
Okoro is still young so maybe with an expanded role he can get more shots up and improve on offense.

It's a lopsided deal but okoro at least has a chance to develop further. If the bulls made this trade though and deploy him in the same way the cavs used him I don't really get it

Bulls won the trade simply because Okoro won't miss 50+ games next season

The issue is, the Bulls still have young players that they are still developing. This team has picked up project after project and hasn't completed any of them. Then you have Huerter who will play, I understand trading Lonzo, but not for another guy making more that doesn't have a team option. It just doesn't make sense.

You have guys like Dalen Terry and Julian Phillips already there that are younger than Okoro that you still are evaluating. Okoro takes minutes away from them as well as Matas. I doubt Essengue gets much burn so I won't mention him, but the Bulls have a lot of wings in that 6'5 to 6'7 range on their roster that are jockeying for minutes, it's confusing wtf is happening when trades like this are made.

Chicago's wings:
- Isaac Okoro 6'5
- Kevin Huerter 6'7
- Julian Phillips 6'8
- Dalen Terry 6'7
- Patrick Williams 6'7

:dwillhuh:

I mean, this isn't exactly a great stockpile of talent to be proud about if you're Chicago. I'm not even including Ayo who definitely will get his fair share of minutes at the 3 alongside Coby and Giddey this season. Matas IMO projects to be a 3 as well.

Instead of bringing in ok young talent like Okoro, I'd rather they just continue to invest in what they already have to see who stays and goes. The way they're building this team is confusing.

He's a great point of attack defender, so he should get about 15-20 minutes just off that

But like I said if they use him that way and he puts up 2-5 shots a game he's gonna continue to just be a guy.

It's been years, and it's become clear he's not gonna make a leap from offseason work. The cavs were probably comfortable making this trade because he was never going to get the opportunity to improve on that team

I'll trust yall word that the Chicago front office sucks and there is probably no follow through

Could just signal Chicago is finally done with the Patrick Williams experience.

Okoro will get minutes, I just don't like the move because Chicago has guys that I feel like have higher upside than Okoro who are younger. Now they'll be pushed to the bench and it's like for what? Team should just let the young guys play, and if you end up in the lottery again with a chance to get AJ, Peterson or Boozer etc etc etc, then great.

Bulls just continue adding players just good enough to prevent them from getting a high lottery pick, and it's annoying as fukk.

I don't even care. Zo is cool, but literally played under 70 games in 4 full seasons, so who gives a shyt? Okoro being healthy alone trumps zo.
