shyt, that shot of Central Park makes it look like any of the large anchor ones in Chicago. Garfield, Humboldt, Jackson, Douglas, Marquette, Washington, etc.
We're spoiled with all the park space in Chicago.

I did give some backhanded zest to my post.But breh really hasn't been to both if the comments about Milwaukee's Downtown being anything, as well ... as backhanded as it sounds there really isn't too much there in Milwaukee's downtown proper.
There's some stuff adjacent to it that is fun (ex. Juneau Park, the museums are beautiful, Historical Distric w the Public Market nearby), but it falls off quick for me.
It ain't a terrible place. Best Midwestern city that isn't Chicago (tho I haven't been to Minneapolis yet). But it has the small town feel to a tee and I'm a lifetime Chicagoan who needs options.
I'm pragmatic about the Mil, so I don't take any offense at all. Don't get me started on the social stuff here that's gonna make me round my family up and get the fukk out.
I generally agree with you on the downtown part. Unless you're in your twenties and want to be on Water Street and/or parts of MLK Drive near the Fiserv (read: Boss Bar-style bars), downtown is really going to boil down to the Third Ward, Fifth Ward (aka Walker's Point) and parts of the lakefront. You'll be done with it in 15 minutes. However, I do think you can easily avoid American pisswater/MillerCoors. There are some quality craft beer bars and an oversaturation of microbreweries of varying degrees of quality. There are also some strong wine bars with good programs as well. What we're missing here are proper cocktail bars with thoughtful programs, skilled execution and the correct ambiance. For example, I can hit Berkshire Room or Broken Shaker, walk 15 minutes and hit Sparrow. That ain't gonna happen here.
Milwaukee is kinda generic, but it's fine for what it is. Outside of Chicago, I'd put Detroit and Minneapolis over it. But it's way better than Indy or Cincinnati. It's best enjoyed when you know where good shyt is and get it from a local with good taste. So if you're up here, feel free to hit me up and I'll throw some spots out.
Also, Minneapolis is definitely ahead of us and has plenty of options. But white Minnesotans are passive aggressive trash (trust me on this, breh) and the city rolls up much earlier than here. Don't sleep on Madison, either - it punches way above its weight for its size.
