Yeah I can. I have lived in both. I grew up on the West side of Chicago. My dad moved our family to Chicago back in the 60's from West Tennessee.

I lived in Chicago during the heart of killings back in the 70's and 80's. Some of the dudes that I grew up around are just completely fukked up human beings. They don't give a fukk. It is not like if there were jobs that those cats would actually work them. Because they wouldn't. Those cats are living that life. We have to stop making excuses for shyt.

Poverty, class gaps, drugs, and guns are all readily available, violence follows. All of those are elements and more are present in Caracas, Venezuela, San Pedro Sula, El Salvador, and Chicago, Illinois among many many other cities, and thus violent crimes are rampant in all.

There are fukked up individuals everywhere breh. There are fukked up individuals sending thousands of US soldiers to kill hundreds of thousands in others countries for their own interests and they too do not give a fukk. But fact is when you give humans those elements i mentioned in inner cities n shyt it all ends up in the same result. Chicago isnt special, black people arent special and the US isnt special

Since the focus is on Chicago then let's say this; most people in the hood in Chicago are not in gangs. They are just caught in the middle of the shyt and they can not get away. Those people are not causing chaos. They are just regular people who woke up one day to find their neighborhood infested by gangs. Regular people in those hoods are not bussing caps; it is gang members doing that shyt. That is the shyt that nobody ever seems to mention when talking about Chicago. The vast majority of people doing the shyt in Chicago are the gangs. I know this because I grew up there and lived there for over 40 years. I grew up right there seeing it. I didn't read it in any book.

Socio-economic arguments don't make sense for the violence going on in Chicago and other places. It is not like these gang members are saying "since I can't find a job; I am going to shoot up the neighborhood." That ain't how that shyt breaks down. Gang members ain't trying to go to no job. That ain't their thing. Gang banging is their job. Your socio-economic argument might make sense for normal guys and why they might enter into violence, but gang members throwing lead in the hood are far from being the normal guy in the hood. That is my 2 cents.
