This is one of those things I feel like I have to be from the hood to understand. Buying a block in the hood sounds like a huge headache to me. Props to her though. Someone’s gotta clean up the communities :ehh:
how is it a problem when gentrifiers take over and win with ease?

Keeping Black populations in major cities is important. As a lot of cities get gentrified people are pushed out into suburbs that cut off populations from access to a lot of city resources and opportunities. Buying back blocks would be a great movement to take off that combats this.

Yep!
She can develop the land. Maybe put in smaller houses like a tiny home or mobile home. Or even build a multi family home.

She can rent to low income working people or people with subsidized housing vouchers. They would have a nice home to raise their families and she would get a great tax deduction and help her community with little of her own money being invested. It's a win-win.
Then get the politics together to bring businesses to that community than will help it grow

Making sure, also, another Flint doesn't happen and the elected officials don't neglect it

This is a great move
