You know how many young people out there only know like one or two songs from dudes like Bob Marley (Jammin' or Get Up, Stand Up)? David Bowie (Fame or Let's Dance)? James Brown (I Feel Good or Sex Machine)? Elvis (Heartbreak Hotel or Jailhouse Rock)?
There are even young cacs out there who can't even name all four members of the Beatles (most people can only remember Paul McCartney and John Lennon ). Yes, Pac is more recent than all of them but the point remains......
People mainly care most about what's happening during THEIR time period, and what music is hot during that period. Sure they'll hear about and acknowledge the legends like Pac but that don't necessarily mean they gonna take the time to hear their music. I guarantee you way more black 16-year-olds in the U.S. have heard Grove St. Party by Waka than those who have heard Keep Ya Head Up......and yet they'll still say Waka ain't even in Pac's universe, if you ask them who is better....
Lil nikkas today will be like "Pac was the GOAT" meanwhile they stay only listening to Drake and Kanye cuz that shyt is hot right NOW....they ain't gonna take the time to go back and say "hold up.....lemme take an hour to hear some of Pac's greatest shyt, to see exactly WHY everyone say this breh was the GOAT".....nah, they busy listening to Hotline Bling on repeat, or hearing only the newest songs play in the club or on the radio....

same here. makaveli was the first album I heard cause when Pac died, I aint know who he was and somebody gave me the tape. Pac the goat to me but I missed Big and Pac run in real time.
