The general public has NO IDEA what the U.S. military has in store for any country that wants to get froggy. The shyt you can actually see is clearly more advanced than any other country, but it's the shyt you don't know about that if I told you, you would think I was making it up.
The general rule of thumb is that the tech that we think is brand new is about 10-15 years old, militarily speaking.
Put it this way, you ever played the games Halo and Metal Gear Solid 2?
Stay with me here: In around 1993, US scientists developed railgun technology that allowed us to shoot plasma projectiles and FUKKING BALLS OF LIGHTNING. The moment the U.S. military deemed that weapons grade, the project went classified and we haven't seen that tech since 1993.

China and Russia are still trying to develop conventional railgun technology, where they fire metal rods.
We literally have the capability to fire plasma and lightning dog, and that was in 1993.
There is a theory that if three US major enemies attacked us at once we'd likely lose. We'd have to stretch our resources out VERY thinly in order to maintain fronts.
The US militaries are currently facing a retention problem so our numbers are likely lower than ever, especially when it comes to potential large scale ops with Russia and China. We don't want to fight these guys simultaneously.
