I grew up in the Strawberry manors in sac where there was a mix of nikkas, Laotians, hmongs, tongans etc. We all grew up together, played hoop, hustled, shot at nikkas, etc. (not me, them) Growing up in the same hood being exposed to the same shyt created a family aka culture. We all called each other my nikka. In my opinion it's not black and white, and on an even grand'er level, words only take the power we give them.
I'm from Sacramento too but this just ain't a Sacramento thing. About the only places that don't have this widespread experience of every race and ethnicity using the N word, are the corners of the country still around that lack diversity...
I guarantee you the majority of the guys on here who have a problem with non blacks saying "nikka", are from a hood/city where they grew up around all or mostly blacks...
I don’t understand why anyone not black would want to use it for any reason. So what if a couple of your black friends would be okay with you saying it?
Why would you even want to when you can just use so many other words to use ya know?
Non blacks want to use it because non blacks always have used it. This ain't new, just in the modern era its more socially acceptable to use it...for everybody to use it...
At my job tonight, my job is like 80% white, my (white) managers regularly play their hip hop over the speakers. Tonight one was playing the old Pac track "Rather Be Your N.I.G.G.A.". I didn't hear nobody white singing the chorus but the comfortability of whites playing songs like that in the presence of blacks speaks to so many levels...
Nope, you not black you don't use it, period.
Simple as that.
Weirdos and c00ns like yourself want people to like you so much you tolerate them insulting you.
You are idiots.
Maaaaannnn...knock it off. Where are you from? I'm sorry you're so easily offended...
I got brothers at my job who throw it around with no regard
That pisses me off more than anything, because I feel that we owe it to ourselves to use it responsibly. Brothers and sisters lack the awareness if how we already are perceived by non blacks, so using "nikka" recklessly feeds the stereotypes...
Two Filipino (or any race) kids calling themselves nikka to one another has nothing to do with me. You say anything to me in the wrong tone or context and it could be an issue, nikka included but running around policing the word nikka, expecting people to censor themselves when they rap a long with songs that have the word nikka in them a mile a minute, is stupid.
I'm not about to fight for my right to nikkadom, especially in the context where in which I'm supposed to feel offended and degraded or like I'm being pushed as the face of ignorance, I'm cool on investing any energy into that.
This guy gets it...
huh?

if you don't get this c00n this the fukk outta here!
No one should be using the N - word, but at the very least black people should only be allowed to use it. Why can't other groups refer to themselves as their slur words?
So what is with this ownership of a term we didn't even create? White people created it to degrade us, we started calling each other that in a derogatory sense because we were taught to do so, then along the way we applied affection to it. This startled the regime/ruling power, because the manner in which we used it wasn't the original intent of the creation...
Then we let everybody know we used it affectionately, but here's the thing, whites and some other non blacks (ESPECIALLY whites) never stopped using it and calling us that, whether in public or private. So we didn't need to "allow" them access, but once they saw we weren't bothered by it as a collective, we embraced non blacks using the word in the same affectionate manner we used...
So explain to me why you're possessive of a word that has transcended it's original meaning, one we didn't create anyway?
It's a bunch of people on here that will tell you that bi-racials, Obama specifically aren't black and that regardless of profiling black folk shouldn't claim them.
I don't care bout none of that shyt but there are people who address Obama's blackness or lack thereof.
There are some people, especially white people, who challenge Obama's blackness. But he self identifies as black and has a black wife and black children. Its idiotic to challenge that man...
Did anyone actually watch the video? Hes not talking about Ebro using the word.
Yep, I watched it, he was talking bout Ebro but not in the sense that this thread has taken. Guys reaching in here, and I find it interesting that cats don't like Ebro...
A responsibility??? fukk is you talking about ? Keep that word out your mouth and you get to keep your teeth. It's that simple
Esp
Your opinion, it's all good!
