They have next. Those are economic migrants. It's almost like unemployed Americans going overseas from work because they cant get a job with their degree. These are kids from white collar/middle class families who werent able to get a job straight out of college. Silicon Valley tech bros been tweeting about We NeEd MoRe ImMigRants nonstop, which is why some chinese students are migrating.
Nah.. prior to Covid.. maybe. But Xi fukked up with the way he dealt with Covid.
Here are a few of China's problems:
Demographics(worst among developed countries, 1 child policy really fukked them here)
Technology
Cheaper labor competition from other south East Asian countries on the come up.
NAFTA
With manufacturing moving back to the Americas and much more secure trade routes, cheaper logistics, less immune to China's supply chain fukkery... the $$ we exchange for cheap manufacturing and labor is slowing faster than the time they need to fully switch to a consumer driven economy. We're knee capping them on the tech front with the CHIPS act and they can't be #1 if can't compete with us on the tech front. Their paper economy is falling apart(see: evergrande, the amount of zoomers without jobs etc).
There are too many headwinds for them to overtake us as the #1 super power in this century.
