It was mad people on here, and lots of Democrats, that wanted Chinese style lockdowns and authoritarianism to signal just how much more they care about human lives than the next person.

Wife and I was talking about this....

Yall know the backstory of us trying to be Expats etc. All I remember is that during the time of us being couped up in the hotel, my wife said that God told her to watch the news.

Two years later...this shyt happens . It was like the powers that be helped us dodged the bullet despite the hell we were facing. I would have rather us being couped up in the hotel and able to get some fresh air, versus being stuck in a damn apartment starving to death because "COVID"

But there has been some domestic discontent regarding the lockdowns for some time in China, which US intelligence has been desperately trying to inflate to lead to some kind of pseudo-civil war or government overthrow.

In reality, the “riots” are about the same size as the anti-mask “protests” in Wisconsin and Texas.

Considering the success of their public health story, the Chinese state just needs to get the food and public goods distributed more quickly.

Their food is rotting and all over the place though, they’re completely disorganized and have probably killed a lot of people with their ruthlessness, these people are running a legitimate slave state.

Idiotic take. There are people who, when dealing with a novel Coronavirus before a vaccine, felt that the best measure was temporary lockdowns in order to stem the transmission and save hospitals from being overburdened. Also to save lives of the most vulnerable. The idea that people wanted this on some "just because" shyt, without taking into account circumstances and the reasons why is why is the stuff of fools. 1. If you can give me a better suggestion about what to do when a once in a lifetime pandemic envelopes the WORLD that has the deadly ramifications and high transmissability of Covid that isn't stupid I'm happy to hear it. I'm not a fan of large parts of the government, but one thing government is supposed to do is protect its citizens via public health policies in scenarios like this. Further, we see how the US was the WORST industrialized nation in the world in dealing with Covid because a moronic megalomaniac was at the helm when it hit. I think that encapsulates what having a defective government can mean in these situations.

2. What power didn't they give back? A lot of red states barely locked down and last I checked there were no lockdowns anywhere in the US. Once the immediate threat of it subsided, states relaxed the lockdown policies.
