I figured that these Chinese takeout places would disappear eventually.
I don't really see any young people working in them (youngest is 40+ usually), and immigrants from China these days are generally less desperate than back in the day.
Another change is that there's more demand for authentic Chinese food now, so that likely means a gradual decline in the demand for Americanized Chinese takeouts.

I didn't since it was my parents. The way finding employees work in a chinese restaurant when we had it was family members that you didn't have to pay aka your kids, ie me. Then you had employment agencies in chinatown with cheap labor and most importantly, they speak chinese, that's usually a big plus when working with others that speak chinese and also do not know much english.

In fact, even with their college degrees half of them still stay at home, multiple families sharing one house, multiple vehicles, etc.

Then get their own place once children are big enough for HS and they live right down the street from one another

Yes and no.

It's just bad business moves and bad business management. Them Chinese folk are too cheap and untrusting to hire outside people to do their job so they don't have to work 12 hours a day 7 days a week.

Plus with the money they make and so-called save why don't they open up more restaurant chains and/or invest? Betting on your kid to become a doctor, engineer and successful to take care of the family is unfair and not fullproof. Their kids could be like nah fukk it. "I've worked my ass off my whole life for this family, I'm gonna do what I want now. I don't wanna be a doctor, lawyer or engineer".

And how can they come from severe circumstances to owning a restaurant chain? It's possible but I doubt all them Chinese chain owners saved pennies and pennies to build that business.

most people follow their culture. listen to their parents, succeed and take care of their elderly parents. the same would happen to them when they age. education opens doors, these executive positions allow people to have an influence in their communities both politically and economically.

What's the point of life if you are working urself to death? 80 hr a week, every single day for 40+ years means homeboy didn't enjoy life at all.

For once I would like someone to name these phantom government benefits immigrants have access to.

THEY ONLY GET A DECENT TAX BREAK ON INITIAL ENTRY. THEY START BUSINESSES AND DECREASE THEIR TAX LIABILITY TO ALMOST NOTHING. OUTSIDE OF THAT THEY HAVE ACCESS TO THE SAME PROGRAMS AS EVERYONE ELSE. THEY JUST HAVE IMMIGRATION SERVICES THAT MAKE THEM AWARE OF EVERY SINGLE PROGRAM AVAILABLE TO THEM.
