If you can't handle it then quit. No need to make yourself out to be a martyr.
Dude is acting like he swallowed the pill and can see the Matrix :pachaha:. If he decided he wasn't built for it and owned that decision I wouldn't have a problem. Saying shyt like "it's all make believe" and pro football isn't "reality"...that's a cop-out by a clown who can't own his decision to quit like a man. The funny thing is the media won't focus on the THOUSANDS upon THOUSANDS that played football up to college or put years in the league and that have retired with minimal to no issues...they'll focus on Borland and Seau to push the agenda.

Truth.

I wrote a paper on how ESPN backed out like pussies of League of Denial after they realized they would have NO SAY on final cut. Let's under report on the lasting effects of concussions and what heinous shyt the NFL did over the years to impacted players. But hey! Let's over report on Lebron's Decision and allow Chris Broussard to have a platform to feed the public updates from "sources" which ended up being Bron's camp. Tim Tebow? Don't get me started.

But let's choose not to inform the public of what all children aspiring to be NFL players should know.

Borland is smart beyond his years. Smart for taking his own drug test because he didn't want his name to be dragged through the mud by the NFL for sake of protecting their tainted image. Don't get me wrong, I love watching football, but the underhanded shyt they do is on some next level shyt. Don't believe me? Go look up Dr. Bennet Omalu.
Ah shyttttttttt!!!!!!

Will Smith to play Bennet Omalu, who changed the way we think about football

How could he even have known that shyt? If you read the article, you'll see that the reason he quit was a combination of his own personal experience with all the medical evidence that was coming out about the long-term consequences. The NFL (and to a lesser extent the NCAA) was purposely hiding that shyt for years, so how was he supposed to know earlier? He had inklings, but that's not the same as having the actual research that the doctors have. He made the decision to quit the same day he was first able to meet with the concussions doctor in person.

Your "ulterior motives" shyt is bunk. You really think he could have balled out the way he did his rookie year if he just had "ulterior motives?" Kept taking all those hits knowing what it was doing to his brain? And the article goes into the ways he's refused to profit off of his revelations to this point, so if he has ulterior motives, he's certainly playing a long game.

Truth.

You're misreading the statement, I think because you probably didn't read the story.

By saying that "football can't be saved", what he's saying is that there are no rule changes or safety procedures that will cause it to cease being a problematic sport. Of course people will still keep it going any way they can, players be fukked.

I played d1 football fam. He knew. We all know. We all got concussed regularly. Almost every game in college someone was concussed on our team. I remember getting crack blocked one game and didn't realize until film study when it was that I had been crack blocked and the fact that I forgot that rest of the game after the block. This isn't some revelation he reached in the league. If u want to be naive and believe that, that's your prerogative.

A lot of players have quit or retired for the same reasons as Mr borland. They are not in the media giving interviews. The NFL has been hiding shyt. Ok, but former players are accessible without the consent of the nfl. The doctors who wrote the book borland refers to were available before he got into the nfl. The nfl's secrecy has nothing to do with borland collecting information about concussions and injuries. The nfl does not regulate who he can speak with.

You have two international sports in boxing & baseball who in the last 40-50 yrs popularity dipped in the U.S.

Yet the NFL which doesn't have hundreds let alone thousand of years of history in this world. Will not only stay relevant(one country/continent US/N America) but never fade? :mjlol: nut ass nikkaz mayne

Nothing in history stays the same, the cycle spins but in modern ways each spin. :wow:

Truth to this but there has always been some physically arduous game that Americans have enjoyed. It was boxing at one point, now it is football. If something does replace football, it will likely be another violent contact sport. However, football isn't going anywhere anytime soon bro. When u factor in the social atmosphere around games, football isn't replaceable like baseball or boxing. The nfl is a billion dollar enterprise. The super bowl has become an American past time. College football is an integral part of homecoming and students to social life. Football isn't going anywhere.

Nah. Mainstream maybe but NFL players have been telling their stories for decades. I knew in HS about guys like merrill hodge who would forget their way home some days and or lose their keys in their house constantly. An article in the NY times from 2009 details the nfls acknowledgment of long term head injuries. This FIVE years before borland was even on the NFL radar. Not buying that.

I do bro. They were huge. Fights with 120,000 plus. Pennant games all over the radio. I do but football is king now and I don't see that changing anytime soon for a variety of reasons
