Play cute if you choose but it’s beeb a popular belief that Chris has become stagnant the past 5 years and is seemingly making the same song over & over again. These are Twitter generation critiques that you’ll probably familiar with if you play the social media game. So I ask...if Chris didn’t maximize his prime then how is that music he puts out supposed to go against Usher’s bonafied shyt?
I agree that he's very stagnant with his output. There's been very little if any progression in his music over the past few years. I don't think that would matter with the crowd that their Verzuz would pull.

It's like people on here are comparing them artist for artist instead of comparing what a "verzuz" actually is. Saying Chris Brown will beat Usher in a Verzuz isn't the same as saying Chris Brown is better then Usher.

I mean that’s 80 percent of “verzuz” audience though.

I’m very aware this is a “era” battle. But facts is Chris wins TODAY.
That's some bullshyt because most of the artists who been on there are before that era :comeon:
And Brown def does not win. His music is disposable as fukk and doesn't stand the test of time like Usher. You could play shyt like Yeah and still have folks turn up at any venue and thats just one of many. What tracks do Brown have that have people hype for like a month at most then are forgotten? That's why he puts out songs at a higher volume cuz they're of lesser quality.

Cb loses heavy. This battles don’t lean towards the new at all. it leans towards classics. shyt same way johnta beat neyo.

shyt snoop didn’t play anything past 03 damn near and he has hits pass that.

Usher songs are better and are loved more. Chris has tons of throwaways :dead:

On top of this, it’s not like Usher’s classic songs just stayed in that era, they bled over into the next decades. Chris Brown’s fanbase has also heard those Usher songs due to soundtrack placements on some of their favorite movies and shows.

Right. Usher's best 20 songs sh*ts on Chris'' best 20, i would hope no one is arguing that. But these battles aren't necessarily about who's songs are better. It'll be even more hit-based when you add an active artist like Chris Brown.

Usher wins, however lets understand that Chris brown is incredibly talented to where he's formidable despite a permanent media bias towards him...for that incident. Had that not happened, he likely would've surpassed Usher in acceptance.

He does though. Tracks like Beautiful people, With you, fine china, say goodbye, yo, poppin, loyal, forever, dont judge me, yeah 3x are all right up there. There are not all Rnb though but the impact culturally is the same or greater. It's not an Rnb contest. Its versus. Yall dont seem to understand its not about who is a better RnB artist or whose records are more pure RnB, who sings better, or even who sold more records. Its just 20 tracks for track. Yall bias against CB cause he is not a pure Rnb artist like usher USED to be. Usher tried the techno world pop sound and failed.. CB actually succeeded doing it and has some classic dance pop records. Overall the versus format benefits CB more than Usher.

Climax isnt even a good record. Not sure why you would post that. There goes my baby is a good record but not some undeniable classic. Burn and you got it bad are undeniable classics.

If the battle happened today it would be relevant and likely a winning round for CB. Same thing would happen if he played his current top 10 single Go crazy, with young thug. CB been relevant over 20 years. his music and legacy will still be around 20 years from now. He made his impact on the game just like usher. Nobody is checking for anything usher dropped post confessions. That's the reality. Yall hyping stuff like Ushers mixtapes with zaytoven when it flopped and nobody cared or listened to it (and it had a few decent tracks but nothing that competes in a versus).

Climax isnt a good record but Kiss, Kiss or Pills is? Lol smh

Versus attracts mostly rap/hip hop and rnb fans

Mostly 25-40 yr olds if I had to guess. Teens and young adults dont have the attention span or a strong interest based off my observations

There's no judges or set rules...its just a celebration of music

That said, I believe the audience would feel Usher more...i.e. vocals, lyrical content

With what though? Chris doesn’t have any classic albums - Confessions is an undeniable classic R&B record. Chris has some great songs but what are his signature hits? These things are more clear with Usher
