This might be an indictment on how bad R&B fell off over the years cause people are saying Chris will totally wash Trey Songz and want him to go against Usher lol. There’s literally nobody else Chris could go against now.. Neyo maybe but he’s done one already. It’s pretty sad cause I don’t know who else he should go against other than Trey but I do know he shouldn’t go against Usher. It’s better to have Usher go against somebody that came up in his era.

There's a huge difference between an artist that makes hits and an artist that makes timeless records. Usher made timeless records. Breezy made/makes those tracks that bytches say "that's my song!!" and run to the dance floor. Usher made songs that people use as their wedding songs, that people reminisce to specific times in their lives, and that legendary artists have used in their own Verzuz. Quality vs. quantity is a cliche argument, but it holds true when it comes to this one. Chris vs Trey would make a ton more sense.

speaking of stevie, fun fact that chris was the 3rd youngest artists to have a number 1 hit, only stevie and some other person were younger. Chris had a legendary start but we all know what happen, and obviously when you get black balled you wont have access to all the top producers and songwriters that it takes to keep that going. but chris still did what he could and still going.

usher released his first album and not much came from it, 3-4 years and a ton of development later, he started hitting.
chris had top hits, grammys, platinum records immediately, then 3-4 years later, he's in scandal.

two objectively different careers but as far as subjectively, i listen to brown more.
as far as them competing, its more about a who had the better producer/writer.
bottom line is jermaine dupri is the real winner here :mjlol:
