$4.2 mil a year is a lot if you are still trying to live a regular, upper middle class lifestyle. regular 2 story home, 3 cars, etc.

But for a celebrity? That was once makin #1 hits on the hot 100 in his prime? Yeah, it's definitely ain't shyt for him. Like, dude was getting number 1's in the mid 2000s, and he was just 15-16, and not even fully a household name.

His fault for beating Rihanna though. Imagine if he didn't do that, and broke into the full-blown mainstream. The extra endorsements and features he would have gotten would have been crazy.
Making $4.2 million 10 years after your prime is a lot for someone who was canceled for domestic abuse.

And??!! People be legit thinking Mario is just a 1-hit wonder until I remind them that Mario had at least 1 hit single on each of his first 4 albums. Mario isn't touching CB when it comes to career commerical sucess so just stop this embarassing comparison.
Mario literally has one of the biggest songs of all time :unimpressed:Chris brown was making noise earlier on. Right now he’s just a failed Usher replacement :yeshrug:. What could’ve been

Yup. And again, it was huge with him just being a 19-20 year old that was just beginning to be a huge mainstream mega star.

His 09 album Graffiti was a flop, but it still produced a top 40 hit, and he still could have easily produced a follow up that was more radio friendly and get right back on it given how popular he was at the time. Look at how successful F.A.M.E was despite it coming it soon after he beat Rihanna.

Chris market value is nowhere near where it used to be.

He is a mid tier artist nowadays.

Dude hasn't been an A list artist since like 08-09.

Only delusional chris fans think he's this second coming of mj.:mjlol:

I don't think that's accurate.

Ppl like Katy Perry and Ed Sheeran clear 60m a year with no album out. They don't tour anymore or less than Chris Brown

He’s not one of the most well known music artists in 2021? You are insane.
Has he dropped an album this year? He’s more known for beating a Pop singer than his music (out side of the black community)I’m sure people know who sir mix a lot is :mjlol:. He’s not dominant in 2021 though. Drake is one of the biggest stars in the world. Chris brown is not on his level. He’s not even on The Weeknd’s level or Bruno Mars

To be fair, that is true when you look at it that way.

It still shows how much he fukked up the bag though.

You see how big The Weeknd is? Headlining Super Bowls? Earning $50 million in 2015 - the year of his first breakout hit?

Chris Brown would have been even bigger than that, because the dude can actually dance really well, has better stage presence, and has more sex appeal than The Weeknd (:dame: it's true tho). And he still has a distinct voice, and genre versatility that would have given him features with chicks like Ariana grande and Doja Cat, like the Weeknd.

He REALLY fukked up the bag.

That's why he fukked up the bag. Those two sell out stadium tours and get bigger endorsements.

CB had more mainstream appeal but is now mostly confined to R&B/hip hop. The demographic that gives you big money on tour and makes you money is 13 year old white girls, which is why those 2 earn a lot more money.

OK, name me another CURRENT black male artist(not named Drake) with as many Billboard features & top 100s as Chris brown even the last few years.

Dude is literally on every 3rd or 4th song right now

It's weird. CB had number 1 hits in the mid 2000s, but it always felt like he was on the edge of being mainstream. He was still more in the R&B space a bit.

And he went a long time without having a top 5 hit until No Guidance and Go Crazy came out. He's had a good number of top 10-15 hits though.

It's weird to quantify. He has his stans, but his real mainstream appeal is shot.
