We know too much about famous ppls money. So much so that we scoff at 4 million a year. Im guilty of it myself sometimes. I think it was Hugh Hefner, I looked up what his net worth was at the time of his death and it was like 400 million and I was like is that all? Like 400 million is something to scoff at
who is scoffing at making 4 mil a year? We just expected he'd be making more for he's a household name and is always dropping new music, music constantly played on the radio etc.

CB must have a terrible terrible contract because his album Heartbreak on a full moon went platinum in three weeks and he had a 36 city tour that year.

You know exactly what I mean stop being disingenuous.

I'm talking in comparison to pro athletes.

NBA, Soccer and baseball players are blowing 4 mil/year out the water.
Athletes have always outearned musicians.

Sports leagues are more profitable and much more goes into being an athlete.

Musicians are at the lower end of the spectrum in terms of entertainers.

The smart ones get into stuff like acting.

Will Smith, 50, JLo...bunch of other people, but those are who came to mind at the moment.
ehh:patrice:

A popular musician might be able to use their clout as leverage to get the big bucks in Hollywood

And your biggest actors in hollywood probably get more $$$$$ than the biggest musicians, (although I don't have the numbers to confirm that.......)

But being rising musician is much more convenient than the life of an up & coming actor, and they have much more control of their own destiny too.

I mean, you could be a struggling guitar player or even a local joker rapper and get paid $100-$1000 a gig while maintaining a 9-5

where as a struggling actor aint getting $$$$$ off monologues or their local theater performance.

At any rate, It makes perfect sense that athlete's in major sports make more money since there's so much corporate sponsorship, cable deals, team merch, and ticket sales
Not to mention individual endorsements.

There's so many streams of revenue for these teams that you can argue most athletes might actually be UNDERpaid

There's no real money in music unless you're a string puller or one of the 70 or some mainstream artists across the entire domestic music spectrum that are really eating.

Its such a waste of time and energy I feel bad whenever I see an aspiring artist..ups hiring may actually be a better prospect for most of them.

In Chris case he's fine till he falls off. We've seen this movie before.
why do yall run in here with this dumb shyt

Comparing singers to pro athletes contracts is the first mistake :russ:

If that’s what he did the $ adds up more or less. :patrice:

36 shows at a $100K a pop let’s say...

Platinum album is 1.5B streams at like a third or half penny a stream...

If he in a 360 the label takes some of everything the merch, sales, shows but the trade off is labels put you in position and do all that behind the scenes work. Let’s just say Chris also has some investments and is getting paid to play in the Crew League.

Do the Math...$4.3M is a lot of money y’all that’s not his net worth just what he made last year and I’m sure he low balling for court purposes too.

I believe that's the case as well in this instance. Celebrities lie all the time about income and assets when it comes to court proceedings especially since they have access to the finest accountants that money can buy.
