I been getting into WarhammerHe (Satan) was corrupted by even older ancient chaos gods who hid their nature from him, God didn't want him (satan) to know about these ancient deities and denied their existence.
When Satan found out these ancient deities did in fact exist, he was horrified by the lie God had told him. The ancient deities had corrupted satan by this time and convinced him it was God who was evil and the liar.
