Claire Obscure 33 is the most overrated game in history

Funny how this year meach and titan care about GOTY awards .

I care about as much as I always do.

Just so happened this time, the energy, passion, and hype for a GOTY nominee matches the actual game that won. Since 2020 it's been mad sketchy and clearly bias and "corrupt" on top of not really showing love or consideration for the people behind the games like that.

I'll even shoot TGA 2020 some bail since TLOU2 is mad divisive. But still a masterpiece of a game. The problem is so was GOT, and FF7 remake... and animal crossing was a phenomena worldwide especially during COVID, while Hades was the hottest thing cooking.

Even with Claire obscure sweeping this year, the fact that it didn't win *players choice is insane but we know why that is.

It was my main point of contention with metaphor also, it starts out with such a strong premise and ends up being “killing god with the power of friendship” trope.

And yeah, it’s why a lot of grown men that play big single player games don’t gravitate toward the genre in the west because it’s like playing the maze runner, divergent or hunger games, the game. Grown up’s aren’t really gravitating toward tropes that are built around adolescent storytelling

As far as writing goes, cyberpunk, TLOU, god of war 2018/Valhalla, Dishonored 1 & 2, Dispatch, Witcher 3, Portal 1 & 2, BG3 etc.

I guess one of those stories might have some revenge stuff on it though.

The awards are a paid for popularity contest for Dorito man and his friends.

The E33 team literally paid Geoff millions to be there. Not really surprising it turned out the E33 awards

Yeah all jokes aside I definitely like GOY over Claire Oscure overall. The lack of maps inside of dungeons caused some areas where it felt like I was running in circles trying to figure out where to go and constantly fighting enemies over and over. It got old quick and I just ended up wanting to finish the game. It was a great game, but I'm not going to pretend it's better than Rebirth as far as an RPG goes. I didn't even care for the characters like that, like the little moments where you can bond with the party just was meh to me. I just didn't really care for the characters as much.

It's better than XVI though.

I'd give Claire like an 8.5/10 imo from what I played. GOY is a 9. Rebirth like a 9.5, XVI a 7/10.

People saying "it's the best RPG i've ever played my life" or some shyt is just wild glaze. I've played far more interesting like SMT3.

I mean they're smart, they give out a pretty good reward (value wise) if they are nominated and more if they win from what I understand. This time around it was less and some fans was kinda salty.
