That’s the warmup, they giving Justice roberts an opportunity to address it, if he doesn’t then it would only bring more heat on roberts.. will roberts throw coin Thomas black ass under the bus or illicit questions whether he’s compromised too

I was thinking the same thing in general terms - of all the justices Roberts is likely to be the first one to crack, he's the one who actually cares how the court is viewed unlike the others. How much difference does it actually make if he comes out against Thomas though?

Kavanaugh will be the next to break because he's the most insecure.

I don't think folks realize just how bad this is. Clearly he has been completely been compromised to the point of hiding millions of dollars-knowing his position has no oversight to speak of.
I agree it’s a huge deal, but I don’t think anything will be done. Just like his wife trying to overthrow the election resulted in 0 consequences, I’m afraid this will too. The Supreme Court is a joke, which is scary.

Sounds like impeachment at the minimum and possibly criminal charges. He's also a lawyer so he can't say he didn't know or didn't understand.

In a perfect world Congress would do it's job and make an example of him

There is no way in the world that anybody can actually suggest that after 17 years he just conveniently forgot to switch the name to the other holding company that was (allegedly) still in existence.

That's a crock of shyt you and I both know. His position alone is supposed to make everything that he ever submits airtight. This was fraud, laundering, whole 9.

A sitting SC justice pleads ignorance to forget to continually disclose millions of dollars?! The man who tells business, non profits, charities and individuals what to do, comply and report with conveniently keeps forgetting to do this and it's a clerical error?!?

He has an entire team of accountants, financial advisors and lawyers but he can't seem to get this right?! GTFOH.

I don’t think anyone has the courage to go after him in this political climate. And House republicans aren’t taking down their own guy.
The journalists, and a handful of Dems - but not those with the reach or power to actually rally the Party.
GOP has never cared above corruption or hypocrisy - they exist purely to capture power.
If nothing else comes from this, I believe this will usher in a code of ethics for SCOTUS as one doesn't exist today.
That's the hope, and it shouldn't be difficult to implement.
The Republicans and a few fence-sitting Democrats are going to be the only barrier.
Of course he’d go to bohemian grove. I don’t think it’s as sinister as they’d lead you to believe but something ain’t right there.
It both is and isn't.

It's sinister in the sense that some of the wealthiest and most powerful corrupt figures gather there every year to continue their corruption and to ingratiate new figures into the fold.

For some odd reason conspiracy theorists have turned it into some demon-worshipping nonsense.

As if the commodification of nearly everything and capitalist exploitation backed by Western nation-states isn't bad enough.
My assumpton is they all do the same thing.

I imagine most high-end politicians in federal, state and local government do stuff like this. Thomas is wildly flagrant with it though.
A lot of them do. Particularly on the right - since conservatism is a minority ideology in the U.S. it has to be propped up by billionaire dark-money figures and groups, and anti-democratic policy lobbying.

You'll find substantially less political corruption on the further Left you go, that isn't to say that most mainstream centrist Dems aren't at least mildly corrupt - most just aren't to this extent.
