I don’t think anyone has the courage to go after him in this political climate. And House republicans aren’t taking down their own guy.
The journalists, and a handful of Dems - but not those with the reach or power to actually rally the Party.
GOP has never cared above corruption or hypocrisy - they exist purely to capture power.
If nothing else comes from this, I believe this will usher in a code of ethics for SCOTUS as one doesn't exist today.
That's the hope, and it shouldn't be difficult to implement.
The Republicans and a few fence-sitting Democrats are going to be the only barrier.
Of course he’d go to bohemian grove. I don’t think it’s as sinister as they’d lead you to believe but something ain’t right there.
It both is and isn't.
It's sinister in the sense that some of the wealthiest and most powerful corrupt figures gather there every year to continue their corruption and to ingratiate new figures into the fold.
For some odd reason conspiracy theorists have turned it into some demon-worshipping nonsense.
As if the commodification of nearly everything and capitalist exploitation backed by Western nation-states isn't bad enough.
My assumpton is they all do the same thing.
I imagine most high-end politicians in federal, state and local government do stuff like this. Thomas is wildly flagrant with it though.
A lot of them do. Particularly on the right - since conservatism is a minority ideology in the U.S. it has to be propped up by billionaire dark-money figures and groups, and anti-democratic policy lobbying.
You'll find substantially less political corruption on the further Left you go, that isn't to say that most mainstream centrist Dems aren't at least mildly corrupt - most just aren't to this extent.
