Southernplaya not a classic? How? That shyt better get the 80%... :birdman:

What the fukk? The production may not be as polished as ATLiens and is more funk and bass driven, the parallel between Andre and Big Boi wasn't set. But these nikkas took you to Atlanta, the same way Nas took you to Queensbridge on Illmatic.

Don't you nikkas comprehend it's much deeper than Cadillacs? :comeon:

The coming of age topics (Andre talking about taking the SAT's and whether he'd graduate high school and shyt), black on black violence on Crumblin' Erb, the themes of empowerment and upliftment through. The depictions of the A and Southern pride overall.

The album with Git Up Git Out, Ain't No Thang, Call of da Wild, Players Ball ain't a classic. The whole South got something to say comes from Kast winning new group pf the year off the strength of this album. This album helped put the South on the map.

I don't know why nikkas say ATLiens is better. Southernplaya is a true classic and their best album.
Agreed with everything except I'd say the production is better on Southernplayalistic. Organized Noize :wow:

man i missed out on the fun.

smh @ the outkast nerds going ham. yall are like hip-hop's version of a star trek convention.

i wouldve only voted for SPCM.

If I was to be completely objective I could really make the case for Kast being the GOAT group. The thing that bothers about them is that by the time Stankonia came around the chemistry wasn't the same and it was obvious

theres certain credentials and criteria that need to be met in order to be in consideration for GOAT.

kast comes nowhere near filling those obligations.

how can a 2nd-tier group amongst their peers during their prime be thrusted into goat conversations.

revisionist history at its finest.
just say theyre one of your personal favs and leave it at that.

I'm sure I enjoy outkast more than you do, but I kinda agree. When outkast was out I didn't hear people saying they were the best...just that they had a lane and they excelled in it..nothing close to GOAT talk til MUCH later though. I still voted for them having three classics although I can see where you're coming from :manny:

props. its a great feeling when somebody actually pays attention to the content of the posts.

and i actually liked outkast in the mid-90s, as well as certain joints later on. i even said SPCM is a classic.

but putting them in a goat convo is the equivalent of putting somebody like say ricky waters in the same conversation as jim brown, barry sanders or walter payton.

ricky waters was one of my favs, btw. but he was never in consideration for best running back in his era like barry, emmitt or thurman. so its not possible to put him in the goat convo.

So if they were 2nd tier Id love to here who was at the top. We already kno Wu, Bone, the Mobb. Who else?

along with the fugees, dogg pound, westside connection.........3 groups who i rank lower than outkast all-time, because they didnt stay together. but the point stands.

we're talking dam near 50 years of hip-hop. and yall in here tryna put 2nd tier groups in goat discussions. all the 1st tier groups dont even get that priveledge. and this was far from the strongest era for rap groups.

the lost boyz arguably had a bigger wave than outkast, and they were 2nd-tier themselves.
