agree with the consensus

Product One Hunid is borderline classic too, and Deeply Rooted at least has some playback to it - still in my rotation since it came out.

Scarface is top 5 for me, one of the last few from the 90's still putting out good music

None.

Production has never been up to par with Face's rhyming. That alone prevents any of his albums from being classic.

One of the best songs I've ever heard from Face:

Top 5:

My Block
Money & The Power
Guess Who's Back
No Tears
Never

that's one of the things that makes him great though, he never really fukked with main stream producers - it gives him his own sound. And Diary's production is pretty top-notch, and he has some hits on there

I'm not saying he should have had mainstream producers. Just good producers. Dude did way too much work with NO Joe and Mike Dean. How do you have the same mediocre producers for 3 straight albums? They occasionally made great shyt, but there's a lot of songs between those 3 albums that had meh beats.

Since beats are the foundation of this hip hop shyt, the first thing I notice when we talk about whether something's a classic or not is the production. If the production's not there, it's not a classic to me. The only exception is if the rhyme content is so revolutionary (e.g. Amerikka's Most Wanted, It Takes A nation of Millions) that I can let those albums slide, even if I personally never play them.

The Diary is a good album. Mr Scarface is also a good album. So is The Fix. But great the whole through? I dunno about that.

another great song:

It doesn't look like it'll make much difference in the polls, but I voted for THe World Is Yours (although it doesn't appear to be a popular opinion) in addition to The Diary. Honestly, for as great as The Fix is, I'm on the fence as to whether or not it's a classic or just a dope cd.
