Claudette Ortiz has always been beautiful and all, but I've been a fan of Chante Moore's since way back in the day.

Chante could have the 20 dollars in my wallet and we could go out to eat Wendy's and get that combo meal. :steviej:

just looked at the preview.... Kelly Price appears to still have the same awful attitude as when I first met her....

what happened to the days when fat women had the best personalities ......

Anyone who thinks that all you need is a corporate machine behind you to make it big is an imbecile .....

Beyonce fukked the right people, these other hoes didn't.
Ashanti fell off when Murder Inc fell off
Claudette Ortiz had two hits with a group, they didn't last long

Rihanna is black and just as popular, there's no conspiracy to keep these girls from blowing up just because of Beyonce.

Beyonce's fame is largely manufactured. She isn't the icon some paint her as and her popularity is overrated.

All "fame" is manufactured, the very nature of the term implies that..............

As for the thread please stop with the tactic of taking away contributing factors to someone's success and then saying if they didn't have those factors they wouldn't be at the level they are. No sh1t, if Michael Jordan was 5'9............... :upsetfavre:

No, some fame is organically derived, built off genuine talent instead of branding. Her fame is manufactured and not authentic.

I repeat, if Sony put the machine behind Amerie she would still be relevant today. The radio don't play Beyoncé's records because they are just so great musically. A lot goes into making sure she stays in rotation. A lot goes into making sure she gets performances at every awards show. If Beyoncé left Sony today and went independent you would see just how little talent matters in the grand scheme of things. As big as Beyoncé is and as business saavy that she is, please tell me why you don't think she's left Sony by now if she could accomplish the same shyt independently and keep all the money? As soon as she does that the radio spins go away as well as the MTV awards and the Grammy Performances and all the perks of being backed by a major. Jay is her husband, why not sign to Roc Nation and get independent distribution if all she needs is her talent and looks?

:snoop:

Name a "superstar" who is independent? And why in God's name would she want a 360 deal...??

Are yall gonna handicap Mike Jack's success because he got jumpstarted by one of the best producer and songwriters of all times?

What about Janet for working with Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis?

Having a great team around is part of the equation of becoming a superstar...But at the end of the day, you need the "it" factor, and Beyonce has that.......

It's a million pretty light skin girls doing cover songs on youtube. You need to send the links over to Sony's A&R, since that's all it takes.

I'm sure they would love to have another artist generate them 100s of millions of dollars over the next 15 years...

you mean could claudette have pulled this off?

with years of media hype and the machine backing her up like Beyonce, I'd say yes. Vocally and looks wise there is not much separating them. If roles were reversed and Claudette came up in Destinys Child like Beyonce the world wouldn't have missed a beat.

Beyoncé is big because of her team. Sony made sure she got with the best songwriters/producers and video directors. The way she was set up she couldn't lose. Some would say in 01-02 her and Ashanti were neck and neck before the Jay-Z connection lifted her to Queen status. She had that Sony Machine behind her which is responsible for the constant radio play and constant video spins.

Stop it fam...yall act like Sony hasn't had other potential Divas on their team. The team helps, but they are going to push the ones...that have that extra umph...that extra sparkle, that it factor. Trust these labels love makin money...if she was a bankable star...Claudette wouldn't have this much struggle to even put out 1 solo album bruh.

:snoop: you make absolutely no sense.

You say beyonce is who she is because of Sony's backing. Well answer this, why wouldn't Sony do the exact same thing to all their other artist so they could make more money? I mean the formula is that simple right?

Just say you don't like beyonce and be done with it cause you coming off as a real hater with your logic.

I like how you underestimate the brand she's built as well as the tens of millions of fans who adore her. You need to have the "it" factor or intangibles as well as the technical execution...the promotional push is just icing on the cake. Her fans didn't like her just cuz she got promo (Cassie and Tierra Marie both get/got pushes from their labels, yet they suck so fans aren't buying it) her fans got her to the point of where she's at cuz she's a BOSS at what she does.

And stop with the "take away the major label" bullshyt, damn near all transcendent artists are/were on a major - Michael Jackson, janet, Mariah, whitney, Madonna, Britney, Rihanna, Celine dion, etc. - and no one handicaps their chart performance or accomplishments because of it. ,that independent shyt is for nikkas/internet famous artists who can't get signed to lucrative deals from the majors so they rationalize their status on an independent.
Justin Bieber has tens of millions of fans who adore him and I could create another Justin Bieber tomorrow. All I have to do is have an audition for young white males ages 13-16 and all the mothers who want to live vicariously through their kids will show up with their son.

I get a young high school chic to tell me which 1 is the cutest and has the best voice and voila, there goes the next Justin Bieber, put him with good songwriters and producers and watch the money pile up once I pay pop radio stations for spins.

Creating a Justin Bieber is not the same as having a Beyonce, little teeny bopper girls love the hot cute teeny bopper boy of the moment, beyonce has Fans of all colors, fans of many genres, fans spanning from 2-102...just stop. And even with bieber, if it's that easy, don't you think every fukking label would have a bieber? there are a million white boys doing covers on YouTube, but something about him set him apart. :beli:

That completely overlooks the fact that they started at roughly the same age and Beyonce is still rising fame wise. Will beiber be in that same position at 30ish? Doubtful
