Same can be said for nearly every championship coach .... so he's in good company :yeshrug:
Nah that's bs - most titles (at least since I've been watching the game) have been won by above-average coaching. Having LeBron or the KD/Steph pair were cheat codes but nearly all of the rest were quality coaching jobs. Just look at how many times LeBron, KD, Kobe, Shaq, etc. went without rings.

Why would BIllups turn down GM job for assistant coach gig? This is hustling backwards
Imagine being the Cavs GM when your most decorated player is Kevin Love. They got young talent with Sexton/Garland/KPJ but none of them three make it worth reported to Dan Gilbert. And he has to live in Cleveland? Big Shot playing the long game

He turned down the Cavs job to not have to deal with Dan Gilbert full time knowing Bron was gone.

thats exactly what is what Altman was basically the only one willing to deal with Lebron and the rebuild...I'm glad that in hindsight we didn't trade that #8 pick (Sexton) knowing Lebron was leaving any damn way.

Ppl are dikkriding Frank Vogel of all ppl :mjlol:

Imagine the praise Lue would've got, if he was Lakers coach rn :dead:
Frank Vogel was already a good coach in Indiana. Multiple ECF appearances and some of the highest rated defenses in leagues history. :heh:

Ty Lue has never struck me as a good coach. Cavs defense declined mightily from Blatt to Lue. He put shooters around LeBron and let him cook. The best thing about him seemed to be being an ex-player and players coach and being vocal on the sidelines. I don't think this is a good hire. I would have liked to see Billups get the job outright but Lue was already an assistant he basically got promoted.

Only one team can win per year ... Those 4 superstar players alone account for 11 out of the last 20 championships.... 11 of the last 20 championship were cashed in by 4 main superstars man ... that number is staggering

Take the superstars away from those coaches and they're no longer champions ... coaches are important for certain things but don't touch the value of a superstar :yeshrug:

Glad Lakers avoided this disaster. It would have been another Luke Walton situation.
