I'm confused... I thought it was well documented that for movie/TV watching Plasma has the best picture quality.

I have a 55in Panny Plasma and the pic quality is excellent. I wouldn't shy away from one for right price if you're just using to watch stuff on.

I've had bad experiences with Plasma in the past because of leaving the tv on ESPN and other channels with logos on the screen. Does this problem still exist?

The image quality is easily among the best i have seen. People always want to watch the game at my place because its so smooth. None of that jittery blur shyt you get with LEDs.

newer plasma technology wont suffer from burn ins as they did before; pannys are the industry leader, and have some beautiful sets; as long as you dont leave your plasma on espn for hours on end straight out of the box, then you shouldnt suffer from ghosting/burn in.

ended up getting the E550....it was between that and the Panasonic UT50

Ive been reading alot of reviews about these plasmas dying and fukking up so a warranty was a must and the cheapest Sears had was a 3 year warranty for $160 that took the price to $859 and then with taxes the shyt was over $900 and it was in store pick up only which meant i would have to pay somebody with a truck to go pick it up with me so i just said fukk it and got the E550

that shyt was $697 no tax and free shipping on amazon and i got a 4 year warranty for $99

Had my 40in Panasonic Viera Plasma since Jan 2010. Not a single problem

But yeah, you need to have it in low light because the screen is real reflective. If I'm pausing something I'm watching, I just turn off the TV when I'm doing so. Other than that, I love it. Would've got a 50in, but I have a small apt and the 40in fills my living room already. Watching blu-ray movies

Yeah im starting to think alot of the problems dudes are having is from breaking in the tv and aging it so fast

I really dont see how running hd slides 24 hours a day for the first 2-4 weeks is helpful...if anything its gonna make your tv die faster

I still got a warranty just in case...plus 3 years from now I can just use it to get a newer model tv

The Samsung 51 inch 3d plasma is nice. Got mine last week. Paid 650 at best buy.
