The Maasai and their Diet
The Maasai are a pastoralist tribe living in Kenya and Northern Tanzania. Their traditional diet consists almost entirely of milk, meat, and blood. Two thirds of their calories come from fat, and they consume 600 - 2000 mg of cholesterol a day. To put that number in perspective, the American Heart Association recommends consuming under 300 mg of cholesterol a day.__ In spite of a high fat, high cholesterol diet, the Maasai have low rates of diseases typically associated with such diets.__ They tend to have low blood pressure, their overall cholesterol levels are low, they have low incidences of cholesterol gallstones, as well as low rates of coronary artery diseases such as atherosclerosis.

I just drink regular milk for now. I did a stint of almond milk. Its cool. I might switch back when I'm older, cause I assume I'll be more lactose intolerant, as my mom used to be able to drink milk, but now she can't.

Edit: Well, I won't say regular milk. I have a high preference to grassfed, whole milk. That's all I purchase, when I feel like making things with milk

I became 100% lactose intolerant in my mid 20s. It was like a sudden switch, one day I could eat ice cream just fine and the next I had bubble guts and terrible gas.

My son is 4 and he's already dealing with it. Regular milk gives him full blown diarrhea. I feel bad he can never eat any of the diary snacks they have at school, its gotta be torture.

Its crazy how that happens. I use to not have pollen allergies, than 1 day in like middle school I got them, and it was so bad I had to checkout from school early. I remember the principal was like "We sending kids home early for allergies now?". Bruh, what can I do, I'm tearing up my skin with all the cheap tissue the school got.

They seem to have died down in recent years tho.
