Yes, do you?

Yep. Would you be ok with your child attending a school with a majority of teachers being transexual?

Dont forget that teachers are human too. I never had a teacher that didnt explore some part of their life with the class. Its inevitable that a transexual teacher would answer questions about their lifestyle for a student.

Letting transexuals teach classes is just the beginning. At some point awareness classes will be incorporated. Having a man dressed as a woman serves no purpose in a classroom other than to distract. Kids shouldnt have to sit through class wondering why their teacher is a "woman" but has a damn five o clock shadow.

If the transexual is a gifted teacher they should dress as their given sex while working and leave the costume for after work.

The story says nothing about the majority of teachers being transsexuals. It says the school will protect transsexuals from discrimination. No I wouldn't send my kid to the homo school but that's not what we're talking about here. A teacher shouldn't be answering questions or offering any information on their sex life regardless of their sexual orientation, if they do its inappropriate and they should be disciplined. I have no problem with appropriate questions and answers about the teachers way of life, but they should be strictly addressed from a social standpoint not sexual.

You have the wrong idea of what a transsexual is. What your thinking of is a cross dresser. A transsexual person has gone through the full change and is living their life as the opposite sex, there is no costume to take off, in fact most kids probably wouldn't even notice.

A transexual/transgender is just someone who, psychologically, doesn't feel they belong to the sex that they are physically.

a lot of Transgender/sexual people who either do not want to go through the change ,or cant afford to, cross-dress to cope with their feelings.

Those people are mentally challenged and wouldn't be fit to teach anyway. I wouldn't condone a person coming to work some days as a woman and some days as a man. But again this is not what the story is about. You guys wanna take the worst of the worst and project it on these people as if they want to prey on kids and turn them gay. These are respectable people who are looking to teach and make a living just like anyone else. Obviously I wouldn't condone inappropriate behavior from the teachers, but their sexual orientation has nothing to do with it. Plenty of straight teachers are molesting kids and fukking up lives, should I pull my kids from schools that have all straight teachers?

:wtf:

I've said the entire thread I dont think they are going to "turn people gay". I also said that gay/bi/les etc teachers dont deserve to lose their job because of their sexual orientation....why are these strawman arguements getting pushed around. Now bringing up molestation....:wtf:

I opened the thread by saying the ONLY part I had an issue with is the fact that at the moment they could come to work as a man one day and as a woman the next (students can also do this as it stands now). In fact thats the whole reason its a big issue over here is because it was pushed through without those types of loopholes being closed.

How is a transexual who cross-dresses any different (mentally) than one who went through with the procedure? Their mind doesnt change they just become comfortable with their physical self.

You aren't the only person I've been debating with and that statement didn't directly apply to you. :manny:

I didn't get that from the story, it says they were more concerned with protecting gay and lesbian students and teachers. In fact the story says nothing about transsexuals wanting to come to school as the opposite sex. Like I said, you wanna take the worst of the worst and project it on the situation. Yes it would be inappropriate for a male teacher to show up in drag, but it would be just as inappropriate for him to show up in any other "nightlife" attire. Professionalism should be maintained and if its not then I'd have a problem.

You said they dressed like that to "cope" with their situation. Obviously that person would be mentally unstable and not fit for teaching.
