I mean with social networking being popular I dont believe a teacher should be "outed" and forced to quit because of their lifestyle, but to have someone be able to express their transgender lifestyle in the workplace as a teacher of young children is status.

Its in the parents hands to educate the children. One of my teachers were openly gay, had no effect on any of my classmates.

You pull your kids out of the school with the he/she teacher, instead of talking to them and teaching them how to react to that situation, you run from it. Your kid goes on to college and is paired up with a he/she for a group project. Now your kid has no idea what he's seing or how to react to it. You've tought them to just run away or protest instead of dealing with the issue.

You are correct it is foolish, but the precedent has already been set. It is unavoidable so your best option is to deal with it in a mature way. Not get upset and run away from it.

It's not about turning people "gay" for me like I said I respect their right to live their lives.

I dont know if this is part of the protection being given by the school board, but I know in some places transgenders are allowed to use the bathroom/locker rooms of the sex they identify with.

Teachers shouldn't be talking to kids about their personal sexuality no matter what their sexual preference is. I'm not reading this as a drag racing thing where a male teach can just decide to dress as a woman some days. But if a person has decided that they want to change their sex they shouldn't be banned from teaching. Like i said your kids can and will see way worse shyt at school, it's up to you you guide them.

I'm not a parent, but I don't have a problem with it..Our society is changing and has changed, so why not include sexuality policies to protect those students and or staff who need it...

kids spend 6-8 hours a day from age 6-18 in school

it most def play a part
ofcourse not as big as the parents
but yea they have responsibilty as well
