So last night was my brothers 24th bday. Had the drinks going crazy, women turnt to the max, everybody feeling themselves.

Then right when it hit midnight, all of a sudden dudes demeanor changed.

His longtime ex fiance texted him happy bday right at midnight... She does this every year... Except this time it ruined the night

She left him years ago after many years and emasculated would be an understatement. The usual, "I don't love you, i want someone else, can we be friends" deal.

Shes flourished since tho, is now fairly famous and is dating an NFL player. She looks happy.

I keep telling him she ain't coming back and shes stuntin on him, then he always ends up wanting to fight me like last night. At this point, i refuse to go out on his bdays from now on cuz after midnight the nikka turns into a butthurt buzzkill.

You no longer "love" dude but do small things like this even 3 years later, while your in a relationship? What motivates this behavior? Guilt, residual feelings, is it just being polite or is it stunting because she's doing much better than him?

He made it clear years ago he wasn't gonna be friends, and never responds, but he won't block her... she texts him and it sends him into a depressive spiral every bday like wtf bro.

My plan is to show him this thread because he won't talk to me man. He's my older bro and I love dude but this has got to stop. i dropped so much money on bottles, invited friends on top of friends out. Coworkers out. New women, and all of that ended without even enjoying it because of a text message.

And this dude gets so many women thrown at him man. His problem is dude can never be wrong. Cats ego won't let him just take the L.

I'm not the best man to get through to him because I've had my simp ways and just recovered. Why not having the ladies drop gems on him. Just cuz she's fine and becoming famous doesn't mean still aint sh*t man.

that emotional tie, doesnt hurt how she somehow vaulted up ala dating a nfl player, so it probably hurts him at the core.

All i can say as a man it can mess you up seeing your ex, getting a text from a ex or even seein ga picture.

this is why I advise if its been a big relationship to SEVER ALL TIES AND ALLOW NO INS.

Unless any of my exes come to my door and ring it there is no way they can contact me, my number has been changed, my emails have been changed, no facebook, no instagram, no linked in, no snapchat, kik, NOTHING you can google my government name and nothing shows up.

Is the bday text the only contact that they have? She might not know how it makes him feel. Or she can just be a petty manipulative bytch. But if she's as successful as you say she is I don't think she would have him on her radar.

Either way, your brother needs to deal with his emotions. He knows the text is coming and won't block her. He keeps repeating the same cycle every year, that's crazy.

Sometimes, you don't get closure. You just have to walk away, because you deserve happiness. Don't let people have power over your emotions.

I'm not quite sure how famous she is, I've heard she's successful from mutual people and I see her IG from time to time with other celebrities grinning ear to ear. Do I think she's balling out of control with money, not really. But I do think she is becoming known for what she does. See Cinna, I feel she has to know. My dude doesn't ever respond to my knowledge.This chick had my bro on xanax and drinking himself numb for over a year. No way word didn't get back to her. Everyone knew he was doing bad. Cat put on like 40 lbs in that year.

He lost the weight and got back out there. But he still mentions her all the time. I'm certain he's lying that he doesn't respond. All I know is we all knew how much that chick hurt him. To see her send a text every year like they are cool is crazy.
