DDL's last one. I wasn't ready for how twisted this one got. That shot with Reynolds and Alma while driving held a lot of significance....really well done. Greenwood was fukkin nuts on the piano and violin. The level of detail PTA put in some of the scenes were insane.......absolutely insane. Loved it.

I was mixed on first watch, LOVED it on the second and kind of negative on the third....so I have no idea how I feel about that movie lol

It's a potentially great filn in which the pacing does not match the atmosphere. The film either needed to be made shorter, or made wilder (think Boogie Nights). Now it's just kinda bizarre but not bizarre enough to make up for the slower pacing.

PTA somehow also randomly inserts brilliantly directed scenes in this film like it's nothing. Like out of nowhere a scene happens that's perfect in every shape and form before the film continues to float further seemingly aimlessly.

Suffice to say, I still don't know what to think of this one either.

i didn't see it, I probably won't, but I did skim thru it, and they don't play up the "black man fetishes" like they do in other interracial romances lately. Brittany Snow's character is a slut, she likes hooking up and she might as well hook up with this dude, there is none of this "eat my ass, going down" stuff that ive seen in other films, they hook up and that's it

They took a pretty color blind angle with it. The character being black wasn't played up at all.
