This is a powerful watch with so much layers. The fact that the body of a black woman was seen as taboo and a work of art in itself to this very day speak volumes to the importance of the aura of a black woman. Abdellatif Kechiche is a very good director but he loves to overrun his projects..most of his movies are longer than 2.5 hrs.

Burning - movie definitely had me like
with the direction it would take. Then seeing how it ends and reading some of the interpretations of the film

I enjoyed the first Mektoub film although it was definitely seedy. The second is a sequel but I heard it triple-doubled down on all the sexist voyeurisms of the first film and not much else. There's a reason Keniche went back into the lab after the film got butchered at Cannes.
