The length was brutal. I really liked the last 40 minutes but I'm not sitting through this shyt again. The OG is better.

Finished Alice in Borderland this weekend. It was solid but don't think it was better than Squid Game like some have said :manny:

Fun flick plus it was a 90 minute movie, that's a plus in my eyes :ehh: It was more of a romantic comedy when you think of it.

Cornfields, cows, & an one stoplight town
Just finished watching The French Dispatch. It was OK. Like most Wes Anderson movies, I always feel like an outsider who often doesn't get the jokes, probably because they are inside jokes for people who know whatever cultural context or niche thing he's covering. But there were bits that worked for lay people like me. I especially enjoyed the first and third stories with Benicio Del Toro, Adrien Brody, and Jeffrey Wright. There's some funny meta stuff about writers that I enjoyed too. 5/10.

Watching now

A coming-of-age psychological thriller that plays out the unsettling reality of a kid who holds his family captive in a hole in the ground.
from google review:

This was literally THE WORST MOVIE I have ever watched. From what the description said I thought there would be some tale of the family trying to escape after being locked in this "hole" by the 13 year old boy. There was nothing. They were locked there and literally nothing happened. Nothing at all. Then this "Lily" character was shown a few times with her mother but they legit had NOTHING to do with anything else going on. There was no buildup of anything, no suspense, no actual Storyline. Just nearly 2 hours of ABSOLUTE NOTHING! Other than some "fancy" cinematography, this movie has ZERO to offer and left much to be desired.

I absolutely loved it but I'm a sucker for nice visuals :lolbron:

Pretty sure there's indeed some jokes that worked better for me because I live in France. Can't think of any examples right now but I remember thinking that while watching the movie.
