Yeah dude.. "My ancestors died for my right to vote"..
And with that you supported a white supremacist in your words. A Reagan level white supremacist. Remember Reagan said African UN delegates were monkeys” who are “still uncomfortable wearing shoes.” In your words, you support that because other black people told you to.

They tried. He couldn't even goto restaurants without white people over doing it and yelling im rich bytch!! And all the other stuff white folks ran to the ground.

If they were to pull the TV ratings and statistics, once Chapelle show came on. We all was locked in, even rushing home to see it with the family.

But like usually, white people ran it to the ground and then there was those who using his platform to hijack it on some mocking shyt. It started subtle then it became straight of mocking to the point, it's like okay.. Whats really going on here.
Oh, I know. He not only mentioned this on For What It’s Worth, but the first time I saw Chappelle live back in 2003, he talked about this.

So, whether you like Kaepernick or not… is he wrong? It’s very simple and obtuse to attack the messenger because of real or perceived flaws, but what do nikkas think about what he’s actually trying to say?

Who do you listen to? Who do you look to for opinions on social issues? Are they perfect? Is there anyone on earth who’s entitled to an opinion if they’re not 100% right about everything all the time?

A lot of cats can’t ge past the fact that he’s biracial. Thry will go against anything he says or does.

I didn't click on the video.

I know that this is his gimmick, and I'm not saying that he doesn't truly feel this way 100% of the time, but everything that he's saying (and has been saying) would hold more weight if he at least won one Super Bowl.
:hubie:

Didn’t even play the video but hating. Y’all are pathetic.

Where does his "paint-by-numbers-hyperspeed Black militancy" come from?

Did it come from his adoptive white Kaepernick family?

It couldn't have been from his white, biological mother Heidi Russo (where the European nose comes from).

For most Black folks of a certain era and age, nobody gives a damn what white folks think about Carlton or Uerkel, nor do we center our appreciation of those characters on white perceptions.

Colin has no nurturing Black experiences in his upbringing to understand these nuances.

You know nothing about his upbringing, though.

Carlton checked Vivica Fox in that 1 episode. Carlton NEVER brought home a white woman and even lost his virginity to a black woman (Pam Grier) on the show. Kapaernick settling with the NFL and wanting back in sounds like a Waldo move :sas2:

Woman who played Lisa on Saved by Bell
Vivica Fox
Pam Grier
Sista that kidnapped him when he was the Peacock mascot

Carlton is what folk on this board would call a Tom. But because it’s Kaep talking y’all bending yourselves into pretzels acting like he wasn’t a Republican and big Reagan and bush fan.

There were plenty of middle class black people in the 80s who were republicans and supported Reagan

Stop.:comeon:

Reagan was hated by us in the '80s.

The dude went down to Philadelphia, Mississippi where those 3 Civil Rights workers were murdered at the beginning of his campaign to dog whistle to racist Whites about "States Rights"

He used the "Welfare Queens In Cadillacs" trope to justify villifying Black women on public assistance.

He ramped up Nixon's War on Drugs and started ramping up the incarceration of Black folks.

You couldn't say Reagan's name in the Black community without somebody wanting to shoot somebody.

His wife started a campaign even saying, "Look at all these beautiful White faces" for fukks sake.:hhh:

So if Clinton can deceive his black voters why are you so hard on black people who were deceived by Reagan? At least Reagan deceived nikkas with the false sense of getting money, Clinton deceived nikkas playing a sax.

Dude, I hate Clinton as much as anybody, but that is not what happened.

Bill Clinton built relationships with Black leaders, politicians, and clergy for 30 years before he ran president.

Ronald Reagan was most famous for instituting gun control to stop the Black Panthers from carrying guns.

It's not even close who was more roundly despised by the Black community in the '80s and '90s.

I'd argue most Black folks were fooled by Clinton because Clinton at least tried to appear like he had our interests in mind.

Reagan since the '60s was on some straight :mjpls: shyt.

White people fukking LOVE Carlton Banks and Steve Urkel, and it's definitely not because of their blackess. Especially Carlton.

If you don't know that, I envy you, because I've been around enough white people to know this is big facts.

He's basically sayig both characters are safe representations of blackness that are palatable to white audiences. He's correct.

It ain't like he's saying Jaleel White or Alfonso Ribiero are sell outs.

Dude, I grew up in an all Black neighborhood, EVERYBODY watched Urkel every week.

Nobody looked at Urkel as no Tom or "safe" for White people, just that he was a nerd.

I had nerds in my damn near all Black school too. They weren't being safe for White people. That's just who they were:yeshrug:

Now, Carlton was supposed to represent an Uncle Tom type character, but the point was to make fun of Carlton.

Will, was supposed to represent an "authentic" Blackness, while Carlton represented a kid who was so insulated by his parents wealth that he never figured out he was Black.

I don't think he was put there for White people though.

He was put there for Black people to make fun of, really.
