How was it pointless? Indy went from 7-9 to 11-5 thanks in part to Rivers. Rooks got the playoff experience needed to elevate their game even further. Things definitely could've been worse. Who were the other options this past offseason again? Cam?

We know what we have with Jacoby. He started both 2017 and 2019 seasons. He plays too safe and conservative for a team with playoff aspirations. He is who he is at this point, and while he may have other opportunities to potentially start for a team, it will most likely not be here.

Jacoby was solid last season until he got hurt. He missed gmaes and clearly wasn't 100% when he came back. TY missed time too if I'm not mistaken.

I think at worst they would have finished with the same record with Jacoby starting this season. Rivers was never going to get them over the hump so what was the point of signing him for 1 year? He's come up short time and time again with more weapons for the Chargers but the old broken down version of him was going to get them a ring?

Play the guy already on the roster who's making 20 million. He's not a statue and can make plays with his legs so the offense would've been more dynamic.

All the Colts did is bring in a guy who wasn't in the long term plans and now they have to figure out where to go from here. It wasn't worth it. He set them back a year in finding a starter.

Top 3 biggest chokers ever @ QB along with Brees and Peyton

Man played with LDT, Gates, Floyd, Allen and VJax and aint do shyt. Had some of the best talent in the league on both sides of the ball many times in his career and 1 AFCCG appearance :scust:. Horrible playoff stats, perennial choker but since hes white cats are gon talk about his "love" and "IQ" for the game

give a black QB that talent with his failure rate and cacs have a very different response than the ones we're seeing directed to Rivers. Hell he wouldve been out the league years ago

You're right. Jacoby was solid last season until the knee injury against the Steelers, but defenses also started to adjust in the second half of the season and it created even more of a struggle for him.

He forces the team to be one dimensional because he's scared to throw downfield. Bengals went up 21-0 on us this past season and I doubt we make the comeback with him. Rivers added veteran presence, the ability to confidently make more downfield passes, and could read the field better.

I personally think Belichick should take a chance on Jacoby in the offseason. Hes already played in New England before, knows the system, and with Cam's play in limbo, provides Brissett with another opportunity to prove himself again as a starting QB.

The Rivers signing was a stop-gap move from the day it was announced. I think the team just wanted some sense of stability and a chance to make the playoffs if Rivers could bounce back from that dreadful '19 season (which he did).

Did not want Indy to sign him, he played above my expectations last year and we still flamed out as a 7 seed.
I'm glad he's gone, going into the season next year with him would've been same thing. Only problem now is Indy will have a hard time finding a quality starter.
Please no stopgaps, do not fukk this up and trade for a bum like Wentz.

TY was their only downfield threat and he was hurt when Jacoby came back. WR wasn't the teams strength. I think his hesitancy to go downfield is just a new starter playing it safe combined with a lack of personnel. They could have used the Rivers money on wideouts.

I think Jacoby can be a quality starter especially on a team with a good defense and backfield. The Colts had that. I think he just needed another season and he should have gotten that.

The Pats weren't going to pay the $20 million to bring him back. Cam was cheap.

I've seen enough of him here but wish for the best whereever he may go. 3rd and 1/4th and 1 package play sneaks does him zero favors, so I hope he can find a team that suits him better.

We've seen way more Rivers and he was trash his last Chargers season. Play the guy you had. They don't know what the QB situation is for next year. If I was the owner I would have told the be GM not to waste time signing him. If they thought they were contenders they just pushed themselves back further

Pending no dumb moves like trading for Wentz, I'm oddly happy for the clean slate at the position. It's going to be ugly next season but I'm all for it if it gets the staff to focus on viable options at QB. The ceilings for Rivers and Brissett were known for both at this point. Eason is a 4th round project but still hasn't played a snap yet thanks to the pandemic.
