Oline is a highly valued postion, what’s your point? A single OL isnt more impactful than a QB

How are we even having this conversation in 2023 :dead:
It’s a generation of people who grew up on fantasy football where the running back was the most valuable position in that game and they are letting their nostalgia blind them. :dead:

That's all I'm saying breh...olinemen are severely underpaid for their position and importance
OL (in particular OT) are one of the top positions paid though, its not like they're getting paid like RBs. This is from last year and doesn't even factor deals that Andrew Thomas and Tunsil got this year.

If you want to argue they should be paid as much as DE and WR, sure, but its not as though they are far off in what they get paid. But you can't expect the body guard to get paid as much as the person they are protecting.

Exactly. There are "bad contracts" at every single position, no one is disputing that. However, QB's have a longer shelf life, are more protected than HB's, and clearly are a more important position. No one is going to say Daniel Jones is better at his position than Jonathan Taylor is at his, but that doesn't mean Taylor should command more money.

Let's go back 15 years, and I would love someone to point out which teams didn't have an excellent QB playing for them THAT season, or a proven QB that had had excellent seasons already. Go with both the the AFC and NFC Champion.

2022: Mahomes and Hurts
2021: Stafford and Burrow
2020: Brady and Mahomes
2019: Jimmy G and Mahomes
2018: Brady and Goff
2017: Wentz and Brady
2016: Brady and Ryan
2015: P. Manning/Osweiller and Newton
2014: Brady and Wilson
2013: Wilson and P. Manning
2012: Flacco and Kap
2011: E. Manning and Brady
2010: Rodgers and Big Ben
2009: Brees and P. Manning
2008: Big Ben and Warner

People will likely point out Stafford, Jimmy G, Goff, washed up Manning, Flacco, and Kap. Those teams either had excellent offenses that season (largely in part to their QB) or excellent defenses with them. Those teams did not all have top end and top paid HB's.

It is clear as day that you can't compare HB's getting paid to QB's.

There are people on here who actually believe an elite or great RB is equal in value to average QBs :heh:

They'll just move the goalpost or change the argument.

I believe HB's are getting screwed because of the franchise tag. HB's get a lot of wear and tear, and the franchise tag absolutely hurts them more than any other position. However, that is the way it is now.

We had someone listing off and entire unit to compare against a QB.:dead:.

It will be like

“Bro the 17th best QB in the league got a bag why can’t the 3rd best running back get paid?” :dead:

The same reason why the third best guard and the 17th best QB don’t have equal salaries.

But I don’t see dudes crying over guards. The reason for that is the guard doesn’t have cool highlights and didn’t help you win 2000 dollars in your Fantasy football league last year let’s keep it all the way real where this shyt is coming from :wow:

If the oline sucks the QB can pass the ball off cause they sacked so no need to have an high paid qb or wr. You literally need a good oline to produce a winning offense...ask Burrow and Chase.

A Joe Thomas type of OL during this era would get massively paid these days.
Willie Roaf too.....but that's not the point. Point is top olineman still don't get paid their worth..they get paid good enough. And good enough ain't good when you ya qb is making 200mil and you getting 80mil or 100 mil.

Because for the 1000th time positions are not created equal in terms of value.

:mjlol:

:mjtf:

And for the 1000th time pretending like the specific player doesn't matter is ass backwards thought. You pay for elite talent. Y'all will use the worst examples as a blanket reason combined with saying "market" and "value" to justify lowballing elite running backs and you're using the words wrong. There's no universe where Saquon the player is less valuable than Daniel Jones in any concept of value. The same can be said for Josh Jacobs and the combination of Carr/Jimmy. Ain't no one look at Javon Walker's contract and decide they aren't paying WRs anymore......or David Boston's contract. Albert Haynesworth contract hasn't stopped defensive lineman from getting paid. The person I responded to brought up Zeke and Leveon as a reason to not pay future elite RBs, but milquetoast ass Brock Osweiler and Sam Bradford didn't stop Ryan Tannehill from getting paid.

Y'all just heard some guy with slicked back hair on ESPN say it's a "passing" league and just jumped out the window thinking running backs don't matter anymore. They actually matter more now than ever because of how defenses are set up. Just say you're a lemur and you're following someone else. A mediocre QB can have a less than average season and there will be a chorus of "We'll you gotta pay the QB tho....", but if the team's best player is an RB it'll be "market" and "less valuable" like y'all are parrots. It's incredible.

You keep trying to get around the obvious fact that QB's are just flat out more valuable. Use your little talking point about people following some gut with slicked back hair on television all you want. It doesn't make you right.

I'll make it simple for you, although I know exactly what you'll do here.

Find me the last highly paid HB to lead his team to the Super Bowl.
