Superstar
I can get on board with lineman on dline and oline deserving most of the money. You’re absolutely wrong about running backs tho.A qb really just needs to protect the ball and make timely passes, the problem is the league is set up for qbs to be Superman which gives an out for bad organizations and who can’t build a team
While the actual Superman on the team aka the rb typically Carries a squad throughout the season, qbs depend on way too many elements to have the value they have
To keep it real most of the money should be going to linemen and rbs, but the environment is set up for qbs to throw 50 passes a game to justify big ass contracts compared to the rest of the team, qbs contracts don’t match the real production they bring to the team
Really the model should be that qbs get long baseball contracts at reasonable yearly rates, while rbs and linebackers get bigger shorter contracts, im not sure what pay models other positions should have
You talk about qb’s like being a game manager is enough to win in todays nfl which is vastly more talented than the nfl yours and mine parents grew up with. Being a qb is HARD, much harder in terms of decision making than being a running back ever will be.
QB’s might be slightly overpaid but to call the position “overrated” is something I will never get behind. If you think qb’s are overrated sit down and watch the patriots before and after Brady, the Bucs before and after Brady and the chiefs before and after mahomes, the bengals before and after borrow and the bills before and after Josh Allen’s leap and come tell me how those dudes are overrated
There’s not a single running back in football that changes the game the way a good qb does. Maybe mcaffery in that San Fran plug and play offense but that might be the only one and that’s specific to that team as Carolina was awful with him at his peak
