It shouldn't be surprising at all - Reggie at his best anchored some of the league's best offenses throughout the regular season and postseason (one of the better playoff performers of his era), while being ultra efficient with a high volume scoring load, all without being ball-dominant. Whereas Roy's "best" is what he basically did at age 24. Did he have a better overall skillset than Reggie? Sure. But in terms of impact over a generous period? Nah.

no he wasn't, especially if you take the playoffs into account
Reggie Miller vs. Brandon Roy Comparison

Reggie's name rings bells and he's a legend for a reason

if your squad was in a close game with the Pacers the fear of God was in you just by virtue of the fact that Reggie was on the floor :sadcam:

Reggie TERRORIZED opposing teams and fanbases :demonic:

This argument isn't taking longevity and injuries into consideration though; strictly each player at their best. 2008-09 Brandon Roy was better than any version of Reggie Miller.

And that's how I'm comparing them. We never got to see Roy at his best over a generous period that would warrant ranking him ahead of Reggie who was a more dominant offensive player - if only marginally (even despite not having a better overall skillset). Especially given the fact he was still only 24 and didn't have the advantage of growing into his game and fine-tuning it like Reggie did in his late-20s.

Having seen what Reggie did to the Knicks live and the goat level moment of Brandon Roy on no knees against the Mavs I can say we were robbed as ball fans that Roy was never healthy.

But clearly Reggie Miller had the better career and most likely would of had Roy got a healthy career as well.

Reggie Miller is easily a top 5 shooter of all time and was probably the most clutch shooter I've ever witnessed.

Brandon Roy was great but he was never gonna be a better sg than Reggie

Reggie played like 20 years

Roy played like only 5 years

:patrice: this is kinda unfair.

Roy vs Penny or Roy vs Grant Hill would probably be a better match up. Since those guys primes were cut short by injury.

Roy was a bad motherfukker.

And this was AFTER his knee got bad. Against the Mavs team that took down the Heat.

Why did God take this man away from us :mjcry: the generation between LeBron fans and Curry fans would've actually had somebody to respect instead of having to dikkride Curry just because he's what's hot :mjcry:
A hurt Roy would still mentally break Curry :wow:
