the firm had a few different line ups after mega. nore was in the firm for a hot second too.

"tales from the hood" "wanna play rough" and "when thugs die" was from death of escobar.

yea I know all about the firm. it had a lot of members but sadat has no rap relation (aside from the one love rmx) to any of the members.

nore wasn't in it for a hot sec, he was IN the firm and on the album. so was half a mil and wiz. femme fatale and mary j blige were original members as well.

wanna play rough is from the original I am not death of escobar. it later made it to retail on dame grease debut.

when thugs die is not from death of escobar even though dj clue said so but then again him and duro produced that track so I'm not surprised.

it would be the same scenario nowadays if you would have asked dj khalil if "colors" or "what it is" was on the n*gger/the N album.

when thugs die came out in 99 and death of escobar though it was recorded from 98-00, the final tracklist did not include anything that even remotely has that sound. I'm talking lyrically and sonically.

Nore, half a mil and wiz wasn't in the final line up for the firm, they was just affiliates. Nature made the final line up, that's why he is on so many songs and on the album cover. But nore was originally intended to be on more songs too, same with Mary j bilge.

There was no final I am track list, nor was there a final death of Escobar track list. Death of Escobar was never official, just like Nasdaq Dow jones was never official. But "wanna play rough" "when thugs die" and "tales from the hood" we're all recorded during the Death Of Escobar period.

I do remember around late 2000 Sum ish I Wrote and SOHH having some stories about how Nas was gearing up to release two albums in 2001 and one was called DOE (Death of Escobar). It was never clear which was to be which (I even remember one of them saying DOE was suppose to be a double album). But I guess DOE was either meant to be what turned out to be Stillmatic or Lost Tapes. But the plans were always there for a new album plus a unreleased material joint.

almost everything you said was wrong.

noreaga, half a mil & wiz were part of the firm. not only did they say it themselves on tracks, they was there for photo shoots and were on the album.

mary j blige was on the "welcome to the firm" track so thats self explanatory.

those 3 tracks were recorded during the death of escobar period (98-2000) but so was i am, nastradamus, the lost tapes and stillmatic.

im not sure how old you are but history/memory is only as good as your experience. i am and death of escobar both had tracklists that were finalized.

nasdaq dow jones never had any tracklist for it so that is not a comparison. it was just a tentative title.

The Firm final line up was Nas, Az, Foxy and Nature. Everyone else was just a Firm affiliate. Why is that so hard for you to understand? Take a look at The Firm album cover. There are only 4 names on the cover and only 4 artists are pictured. Only 4 artists appear on more than 1 song (aside from Dre who is one song but also on the chorus of two other songs). When I said Nore was at one time part of The Firm I mean he was part of the actual official line up, he was considered to be on more songs but it didn't happen so he just ended up on one song on the album. They was just affiliates in the same way wu tang affiliates claim to be a part of Wu Tang, but they aren't actually part of the group.

As far as Death Of Escobar, it didn't have an official track list, it was only an idea, just like Nasdaq Dow Jones. It's exactly the same scenario. DOE was never an officially planned album. And I am got bootlegged before completion, not after. That's why there was so many different I am bootlegs and also why no-one knows what the double disc was actually going to have as the final track list. But of course you know because appearantly you got both I am and death of Escobar on white label right? You are the only person in the world who actually has seen the final track list not just for I am but also Death Of Escobar

#Fact :

Bin Olu Dara (Nas pops) stopped him from playing saxophone at a young age because it started making his lower lip bigger.
