Nah, Wiz actually had a homegrown comeup.

More like Riff Raff, Yung Lean, Chief Keef, Kendrick, ASAP, etc

wiz khalifa is a plant dog.

how can he be homegrown when he didn't make a comeup in his own hometown? they hate dude out there. lol.

chief keef was organic actually.

Wiz was not getting plugged in around the time of POTC2

I'm talking about dudes who get press before they even have a full length project to their names. Dude's who release one mp3 file but yet they're all over the blogs with interviews and shyt.

Not so sure Chief Keef was organic. He definitely got propped up by Fader and Complex.

After countless wack listing and ranking every article.
It finally dawned on me.
I was like,..where do I remember all these huff ass rankings and bullshyt non-cultural reasonings.
Written to be make believe like they have some cultural footings...
Then, it there it was,.....

Complex = hiphopinfinity.com

Speak on it,...
I will speak on it further.

I remember those days. I loved that site, but they dikkrode pre-hipster rap crews like Anticon something serious. The site's owner, Jay Seagraves, was a damn dikk. His bullshyt caused Vordel from Canibal Ox to get attacked by that nutcase fan Will High.

Hip Hop til you drop!

This is the pic that did the site in back then. Seagraves claimed the three guys with him were guys he hired that day to help. Everyone called bullshyt on that.

that's an even worst example of a plant that you just gave but wiz was a plant as well.

dude was being passed off as an indie artist when he was signed the entire time. I remember that nut ass airplanes video was on tv under atlantic. then a year or so later, all this "kush & oj" propaganda is flooding the net and he was supposedly unsigned. he might of been the first plant of the internet variety that I noticed. either him or drake.

chief keef was already getting mad love in his city. that's organic. I wouldn't be surprised if interscope threw some change at those sites AFTERWARDS tho. some of these sites' infactuation with him is beyond weird. but he already made his come-up tho, with his non-rappin ass.

Complex is the most relevant and in tune hiphop medium out there now. You don't like their hipster bias i don't either but that's basically where the culture is at right now, just look at even how so called 'gangsta rappers' like Jeezy dressin. How can people talk about complex being out of touch for promoting ironic artists like riff raff like they haven't been in a party and watched a gang of black people(since you wanna go there) shouting out ''nikka nikka nikka just watch!'' :manny:

Hmmm I don't know...maybe the prior 350 years of oppression may be a slight difference in Black people being ironic about their own and White's being ironic about something they have no personal investment in..just may be...

:russ: yeah that was his name. I MAY be mistaken because it was a long time ago but I think hiphopinfinity was where the beef between a poster named willhigh started and he ended up going to a def jux concert and putting the beats on Vordul from Cannibal Ox :laff: my man did time for that shyt and everything because those fakkits pressed charges like bytches :pacspit:

I felt bad for dude because I was actually cool with son and it fukked his life up for that particular moment in time.
True story I talked to Will High on messenger about that time. He said they were going to handle it man to man, but I guess that didn't turn out the way he thought it would.

Being a white guy in hip hop my whole life these types of dudes are so embarassing. They don't just make themselves look bad but they make white people look bad in hip hop and hip hop in general look bad.

Wiz Khalifa was not an industry plant. He was actually scooped up by Rostrum and had their backing from as far back as POTC. I remember seeing him live in 2005...he really didn't even blow up in Pittsburgh until around the time "Say Yea" came out. He had a City Paper cover, a couple of heads in the Pittsburgh hip-hop scene (mainly stemming from The Shadow Lounge) talking about him, so to say he didn't make a comeup in his own hometown and he's hated in Pittsburgh is really funny and untrue. We love Wiz son! But from 2005-2010 (when he really blew up with Kush & OJ) he had switched up his style numerous times. Went from street, to hipster, to stoner/weed/swag rapper. Basically with him, Rostrum gave him a foundation to work with and spread his music. He definitely was not a plant, but he had support nonetheless that allowed him to succeed. Mac Miller was indie and he used facebook, twitter, and youtube like Soulja Boy to gain a following. Eventually he got put on by Rostrum...and they have connects for sure. But that was only after he had a buzz going.

I'm from Pittsburgh...so I have met Wiz and Mac on numerous occasions. Nothing about their success was "planted".
