In Florida its real easy...one of easiest states to get one.

take 4 hour training at gun shop, all laws of carrying, you shoot , etc., get fingerprinted , pay application fee for background check and submit with your application fee, back when i got mine it was 117$

cant have any prior felonies.

perk is no waiting period once you have it. can go into gun store , buy and leave with firearm, no 7 day waiting period.

just be safe with it, no plaxico burress. shyt

and if you pull it better be prepared to use it.

If you're former military ...NC will basically throw a CC at you with no problem.

Outside of that..You have to take a firearms class, pay your county sheriff 8 bucks for a back ground check and you're good to go.

When I'm out I usually keep my Sig legion holstered..but you still have to declare here if approached by an officer in your car.

In Florida, do I need to apply for a CCW permit and go through a background check in order to own a (non-lethal) stun gun? I've read conflicting reports online and I'm not sure whether I need a permit or not.

How do u go about the process to obtaining one (im in Florida)

How long does it take?

What are some tips for concealed carry ?(where do u put it,what type of gun u use etc)

How do u deal with the police with a CC permit especially as a black man?

Non concealed carry users...how do u feel about those who do concealed carry?

& what do u think about the new bill that was passed that u can travel state lines with a CC weapon?

I honestly think that law was passed so more white people are armed for some impending doom thats about to happen...

But nonetheless Im going to get one of my own.(a CC permit)

All I had to do was take a class which was 8 hr. 4 hr education (very basic like guns 101 for newbies. What is the trigger, barrel, safety , how to load, etc) then 4 hr shoot.

It may be less than 8 hrs depending on how well you shoot. While you shoot with the rest of the class. If you hit 5/5 targets. You move on while to people shooting 1/5, 2/5 obviously keep shooting.

You'll want to find a decent ccw class because there are some are some cheap classes like price wise and that are only '4' hour...the devry university of ccw classes basically. What typically happens is someone gets hemmed up and your trainers serial number is always assigned to you. So if you were trained by some fukker who was offering a $50 4 hour class his numbers get revoked and everyone they trained within a certain amount of time (could be 1-5 years) is completely revoked. Meaning if you get caught with the heater, the burner, the clapper, the yapper, the stove, that thang , you are now completely unlicensed and carrying illegally.

I took the class, then took my certificate of completion to a police department, filled out the forms, paid $100 and had my shyt in the mail about 6 weeks later.

They do the same background check commonly used for firearm permits and purchases, I had to know the last 10 years of residences, and list any charges (Ive never had any)

shyt could be difficult if you had a bunch of shyt to explain (arrests, legal name changes, illegal alien or not of us status). For me it was easy.

If you're driving your car with your license plates your name will show up when they run your plate, also when they type your driver's license it will show up that you have a ccw.

Every state is different. You will know your state's rules when you take the class. Some states are required to notify aka duty to inform the officer that you are carrying, other states only if they ask you. If you drive around a lot (like I do) just give your driver's license and ccw and let them know if you're strapped.

It's better to be upfront then them go to their car run your driver license, come to you say "you have a ccw are you carrying?" Then call for backup and search your shyt and find a gun.

As a black man I don't deal with police often. Only when I go to register guns. I haven't been pulled over in like 7 years if that. Cops have never been called to my house, no car accidents etc. :manny:

Carry what you feel comfortable with whether full sized or compact/sub compact. Carry however you feel comfortable also, just make sure you're safe about it and try to consider others. If you're black or white and you waltz into Starbucks with a gun on your hip like Yosemite Sam you're going to make people uncomfortable.

At the end of the day unless you pull that thang out, nobody should know that you have it. I ride with that thing in the front seat but if you were to come knock on my window and ask me for $2 you wouldn't know, but best believe you yank on my door handle talking about "get the fukk out!" You will get clapped
