Focus on the 5 pillars of Islam and don't sweat the small stuff too much. It's funny how you can be considered by people to be a shytty muslim cuz of things like drinking, hijab, premarital sex etc. even if you fast, pray 5x a day etc. Remember it's a relationship between you and God and it's a slow process to become as perfect as possible.

When you have to make a tough moral decisions, one of my favourite sayings to go to is "deeds are judged by motives."

Welcome to Islam breh, ask if you ever have any questions. Peep the Ramadan thread that's up

he's right sis :francis:

The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said, "By the One in Whose Hand my soul is! If you do not commit sins, Allah would replace you with a people who would commit sins and seek forgiveness from Allah; and Allah will certainly forgive them."

I heard the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) saying, "Allah, the Exalted, has said: 'O son of Adam! I shall go on forgiving you so long as you pray to Me and aspire for My forgiveness whatever may be your sins. O son of Adam! I do not care even if your sins should pile up to the sky and should you beg pardon of Me, I would forgive you. O son of Adam! If you come to Me with an earthful of sins and meet Me, not associating anything with Me in worship, I will certainly grant you as much pardon as will fill the earth."'

Allah doesn't expect perfection from us, he would prefer we sin and come back to him for forgiveness :wow: :blessed:

Read the Qu'ran for yourself. Talk to different imans of different mosques. Spend some time hanging out with just everyday Muslims. I used to be a Muslim and still have sympathy for Muslims and still have friends and family in the faith so I know there are good people in Islam just like there are horrible people in the Islam. Just like you have horrible people in Christianity, Judaism, horrible people that are atheists, and horrible non religious people you also have wonderful people in other religions and people who don't follow any religion and don't believe in God.

Some sins are greater than others tho. And I don't know how anyone can seriously think their prayers are being accepted when your spitting on the tenets of the religion on the daily.

How can you ask Allah to guide you down the straight path during salat while making no effort to change your ways.

A Muslimeen who drinks to me is just....I don't get it. :francis:

It remains to be said that `Abdullah was an alcoholic. He would often become so drunk that he had to be brought staggering through the streets before the Prophet (peace be upon him) to be sentenced for public drunkenness, and each time, the Prophet would rule to have the prescribed punishment carried out. This was a common occurrence.

After `Abd Allah had departed from one of these all too frequent sentencings, one of the Companion's declared about `Abd Allah: "O Allah curse him! How often he is summoned for this!"

The Prophet (peace be upon him): rebuked that Companion, saying: "Do not curse him, for I swear by Allah, if you only knew just how very much indeed he loves Allah and His Messenger." [Sahîh al-Bukhârî (6282)] He then added: "Do not help Satan against your brother."

There are no "horrible" people in Islam. No one who genuinely adheres to the faith can be described in such terms. :stopitslime:

Allah does forgive this is true and it's never too late the change but if you've never made the effort to do so....well. :francis:

Anyway let me stop, we're in the holy month of Ramadan; it's not my place to judge others.

Why did you choose to leave the faith?
