Are there legitimate reasons to increase the budget?

If not get rid of her if she runs again...
Which is why these unfocused protests are not going to lead to much change. Police, politicians and DAs have nothing to fear or feel uncomfortable about.

Its amazing how Bowser had no serious challenger in 2018

i've been living in the area the last few years (arlington not dc so take it with a grain of salt, but i was commuting to dc everyday)

i didn't see, experience or hear from my friends who are residents of any problems that could be seriously solved with an increased police budget.

BREAKING: President Trump says that his administration is working on an executive order that will encourage police to meet "professional standards" for the use of force in the line of duty.

“[It] means force, but force with compassion. But if you’re going to have to really do a job, if somebody’s really bad, you’re going to have to do it with real strength, real power,” Trump said.“I said we have to dominate the streets. And I was criticized for that statement. … Well, guess what, you know who dominated the streets? People who you don’t want to dominate the streets."

President Trump said Thursday that his administration is working on an executive order that will encourage police to meet "professional standards" for the use of force in the line of duty.

how is this :blessed: ? they haven't banned the murdering of black people

It is banned. That's not a legal issue, that's an enforcement issue.

Not sure what the legal implications are, but what they really need to do is have some federal oversight of PDs and automatically bring in special prosecutors any time a cop is accused of a crime. As things are most Police Departments are in bed with DAs which is a large part of why police usually get off.
